Title: Everest: Man v Mountain Post by: Graham C on November 15, 2006, 10:29:21 PM Does anyone watch this on Bravo? One of my life goals is to go and visit base camp on Everest. I love mountains and extreme cold places and find them totally facinating.
There were two extreme skiers who were going to ski down Everest after reaching the summit but they sadly didn't make it. There was another that didn't make it too, - I can't remember if he was part of the Army team or not. I have developed an interest in Everest and mountaineering in the last year or so after seeing a similar programme about the everest disaster in 96.
It is amazing what Humans can achieve when they are stretched, however the stories about the selfishness shown in many life or death situations shows the worst side of humanity as well. |
