Title: Internet question Post by: bolt pp on November 15, 2006, 11:05:16 PM This might be a stupid one but can you send texts from the internet to a mobile?
If so how and does it cost money? Title: Re: Internet question Post by: Claw75 on November 15, 2006, 11:10:04 PM you used to be able to send free sms via internet, but not tried it for a few years. Let me have a look.
Title: Re: Internet question Post by: suzanne on November 15, 2006, 11:11:45 PM Yes you can and it is free.
Cant remember who I used but as I recall you could send 10 a day free. I will see if I can find the name of the site. Title: Re: Internet question Post by: Claw75 on November 15, 2006, 11:12:17 PM here's one. my only concern would be what they might do with the number, but it's probably in the small print somewhere.
http://www.sms-txt.co.uk/ edit: only free to orange, 02 and t-mobile. If that's no good, a quick google of 'free sms' or similar should find you something. Little darlings....... http://www.cbfsms.com/ Title: Re: Internet question Post by: The Dundonian on November 16, 2006, 07:24:48 AM This is one my kids use to anonymously harrass me from time to time :D Little darlings....... http://www.cbfsms.com/ I use this site all the time, I am regularly away from home in remote places abroad, so if there is a mobile link (most times there isn't), it costs around 50p a txt and the same again to recieve one. I do pay for the service with CBFSMS as that way there are no restrictions. I get 1000 texts for £40. A really good way of keeping in touch with all at home. Title: Re: Internet question Post by: Longines on November 16, 2006, 08:51:31 AM Orange let you send 30 free texts a month from their website if you register your Orange phone number.
www.orange.co.uk > email & communicate > Send a text message The recipient can't reply and it has "sent from www.orange.co.uk" appended to the end but it's handy for sending the odd message from a PC. Title: Re: Internet question Post by: TEX FITZ on November 16, 2006, 10:34:08 AM register a coupla names on www.o2.co.uk & u get 10 free txts a day for each
::) Title: Re: Internet question Post by: Claw75 on November 16, 2006, 01:32:10 PM just a word of warning about these.
Hubby is away at the moment and I've left my phone at home, so I sent him one of these 'free' text messages to let him know. What he received was not my message, but a message inviting him to access my message for a cost of £2 plus usual message rate!
