He also developed the knockout format used from 1971 onwards (the 1970 event being decided by ballot).
There's also a tale in folklore somewhere (not sure if its accurate or not) that the first ballot in the 1970 event resulted in every player voting for themselves. Johnny Moss was allegedly elected as champion when the players were asked who the second best player was! Sheriff |
