Title: Responses on a postcard Post by: b_000_m on November 22, 2006, 12:57:36 AM and make em genuine:
You have 75,000 pound , your life savings, and you are wishing to invest in something and in the meantime maintain ur living with this money. My thoughts have been to invest in a bar/pub, just wishing to know what you would do.. Title: Re: Responses on a postcard Post by: Poppet7 on November 22, 2006, 01:27:45 AM Invest in a house and rent it out to students maybe
Title: Re: Responses on a postcard Post by: Colchester Kev on November 22, 2006, 01:32:13 AM a house ...for 75k ??
Title: Re: Responses on a postcard Post by: Poppet7 on November 22, 2006, 01:41:48 AM a house ...for 75k ?? Oh I am sorry Kev, Surely £75k is a good deposit? No? Title: Re: Responses on a postcard Post by: thetank on November 22, 2006, 01:55:08 AM You could get two in Stoke for that price. ;D
I'd buy 150,000 litres of Diet Irn Bru. It's on offer at the Co-Op Title: Re: Responses on a postcard Post by: bolt pp on November 22, 2006, 04:35:18 AM Play Poker :dontask: ::)

Title: Re: Responses on a postcard Post by: Colchester Kev on November 22, 2006, 09:22:40 AM I have had a PM from someone who wishes to remain anonymous, pledging 16 pence for the Free MikkyT campaign.
I also have had a PM from another member pledging £100 if I drop the campaign !! Mikky who ?? never heard of him ;) Title: Re: Responses on a postcard Post by: ifm on November 22, 2006, 09:24:57 AM I thought he was "visiting his parents" :dontask:

Title: Re: Responses on a postcard Post by: madasahatstand on November 22, 2006, 10:36:21 AM he's apparently in the pokey again.
id invest in property. either put a large chunk of the 75k into my current mortgage or as poppet says, put down a deposit on a flat and rent it out Title: Re: Responses on a postcard Post by: Jon MW on November 22, 2006, 12:51:59 PM I think Poppet's idea is the best one, but if you used it as a deposit that would waste the amount needed to pay off the balance of the mortgage.
The better way would be to look somewhere where you could buy it outright. Using the first estate agent that sprang to mind (Halifax) and the first Town (Nottingham), I got 9 3 bedroomed properties for less than £70,000. If you're not in the same town as the property you'd have to get an agent to manage the property for you, but I think this would be a good idea anyway as they are more likely to know what they're doing than an amateur. Title: Re: Responses on a postcard Post by: tantrum on November 22, 2006, 02:04:12 PM I got 9 3 bedroomed properties for less than £70,000.?
when? can u buy a house for less then 70k these days? Title: Re: Responses on a postcard Post by: TightEnd on November 22, 2006, 02:06:43 PM I like the look of property in Grozny.
Title: Re: Responses on a postcard Post by: tantrum on November 22, 2006, 02:09:04 PM You could buy 1/2 Grozny for that but it would be a long time investment.
Title: Re: Responses on a postcard Post by: littlemissC on November 22, 2006, 02:10:25 PM you can in nottingham.mainly ex council houses.my house is a 3 bedroom and is quite big for a terraced house.we bought it for 32000 of the council and it is valued at 75000 now.
they are mainly in areas with a bad reputation but its not bad where i live(except for the day we had street riots lol),and the houses are great for first time buyers or for rental properties. Title: Re: Responses on a postcard Post by: Jon MW on November 22, 2006, 02:11:23 PM I think this link will work - http://www.halifaxhomefinder.co.uk/HxHfMatched.asp (http://www.halifaxhomefinder.co.uk/HxHfMatched.asp)
and that was restricted to one city, only houses and at least 3 bedrooms. Edit: I used to live in Nottingham that's why it was the first place that sprang to mind for property of that price to rent out to students, but there's plenty of places that it would apply as long as you avoided the south east Title: Re: Responses on a postcard Post by: TightEnd on November 22, 2006, 02:11:37 PM OK, I'd investigate the buy-to let market as well though...£75k in inner city non-regenerated provincial property and let it out
Possibly not in Poland Title: Re: Responses on a postcard Post by: MPOWER on November 22, 2006, 02:14:18 PM I think Poppet's idea is the best one, but if you used it as a deposit that would waste the amount needed to pay off the balance of the mortgage. Title: Re: Responses on a postcard Post by: matt674 on November 22, 2006, 02:32:41 PM your going about this property purchase in completely the wrong way!!
What you do is invest the money in a poker playing monkey then buy the property out of your percentage of the winnings, most poker playing monkeys are quite willing to undertake this agreement for a small percentage and a fixed quantity of fyffes!! Title: Re: Responses on a postcard Post by: MPOWER on November 22, 2006, 02:35:38 PM I'd buy some property near to DTD, and provide short-term lettings to poker players... ;sexybanana; good Idea You need to look at NG7 for Lenton. With all the players coming to Notts. Buy a Hotel aim it at the Poker Market, Shuttle service to the Poker club, Airport pick ups etc . cleaners work pm shifts. Cooked breakfasts starts at Midday. Regards M Title: Re: Responses on a postcard Post by: Colchester Kev on November 22, 2006, 02:36:06 PM Daddy monkeys are a bad investment ... they lose all focus and discipline ;)
Title: Re: Responses on a postcard Post by: matt674 on November 22, 2006, 02:39:52 PM Daddy monkeys are a bad investment ... they lose all focus and discipline ;) i dont know - my two best cashes in the last 6 months have both come in the last 8 days....... i think now that the worry that something will go wrong away from the table has been lifted there's no stopping this primate on the table :)up (plus there wasn't much focus or discipline to start with anyway!! ;whistle;) Title: Re: Responses on a postcard Post by: Acidmouse on November 22, 2006, 02:44:00 PM I would buy a new car :) fuk investment.
