Post by: boldie on November 22, 2006, 09:03:58 PM you had plenty of outs once the turn comes down..for both the nut straight and the nut flush. I am surprised to find that your oppo only had a pair of aces and ussually you take those guys money.
a check might have been preferable (but only in hindsight) but I think raising it is the way to go and would probably have done the same and the all in isn't over the top in this pot. Post by: tantrum on November 23, 2006, 03:27:07 PM Don't know much about OMAHA, but from what i know your starting hand is not great. 1. is not coordinated so why are u there in the first place?
I would not even play this hand pre-flop. what are you hoping to win with that? KK KJ J6 K6? Title: Re: Could I have played this better? Post by: Poppet7 on November 23, 2006, 03:29:51 PM This shows the Omaha fish in me, I would be raising because
1. KK 2. JK possible straight and flush ...but I'm terrible at Omaha so maybe I'm wrong? Title: Re: Could I have played this better? Post by: boldie on November 23, 2006, 04:34:03 PM Don't know much about OMAHA, but from what i know your starting hand is not great. 1. is not coordinated so why are u there in the first place? I would not even play this hand pre-flop. what are you hoping to win with that? KK KJ J6 K6? yeah uyou are correct of course. It is not a hand I would have played but once he bets the flop (which is a bluff although the ten would make him the straight) the turn isn't a bad card to stick the chips in with. This is a crap hand pre-flop and only 3 cards for the nuts once the flop comes down (as a ten of diamonds would make you the second nuts if it comes down instead of the Ace) it is a bluff on the flop. If you realise that you were essentially bluffing there then the bet is fine. If you actually believe to be ahead here you shouldn't be playing Omaha. the turn comes down and it's just about the best youcould hope for when it comes to the nr of outs out there so betting there is fine. but sticking the hand in the bin pre-flop is indfeed a better idea. (which is why, in my previous post, I only commented on the turn play..as I assume that Billy knows what he did pre-flop and on the flop is not ideal) Title: Re: Could I have played this better?
