Title: WMA to MP3 Post by: roverthtaeh on November 28, 2006, 06:06:34 PM Hi,
I buy music online, trouble is, it mostly comes in WMA format. How do I convert it into MP3 format? I tried a trial converter but it won't convert 'purchased music' because of 'drm'. Any help would be appreciated, thank you. Trev. Title: Re: WMA to MP3 Post by: ifm on November 28, 2006, 06:07:48 PM just type the thread title into google
Title: Re: WMA to MP3 Post by: roverthtaeh on November 28, 2006, 06:12:03 PM I did that, and downloaded two different converters.
But they won't convert the wma files that I PURCHASED online. All they will convert is music from my CD collection. Title: Re: WMA to MP3 Post by: lazaroonie on November 28, 2006, 06:14:27 PM dont buy it in WMA format is the easiest answer.

That's rediculous (if true) Title: Re: WMA to MP3 Post by: ifm on November 28, 2006, 06:17:40 PM btw i did seem flippant but i was actually trying to help :D

Title: Re: WMA to MP3 Post by: gmoneyAK on November 28, 2006, 06:20:16 PM Most purchased music comes encoded. Tunes bought on itunes can not be played on any device apart from an ipod. So unfortunately unless you crack it somehow its pretty much usless

Title: Re: WMA to MP3 Post by: CelticGeezeer on November 28, 2006, 06:34:10 PM Well the way I look at it is that you have paid for your license so just download the mp3 version from e-mule/limewire etc and enjoy.
Title: Re: WMA to MP3 Post by: happybhoy on November 28, 2006, 08:00:29 PM Do you have anything that can burn them to normal cd format, never tried it myself but I'm sure I remember someone telling me you could burn as normal cd and then re-rip them. If it's a lot of tunes it could take a while though. this ( http://www.zittware.com/Products/CDMaster32/Tutorials/CopyProtected_WMA_to_MP3.html (http://www.zittware.com/Products/CDMaster32/Tutorials/CopyProtected_WMA_to_MP3.html) ) would seem to be doing something similar. Failing that try googling 'convert protected wma to mp3' there seems to be a few things there that could help.
PS I would in no way suggesting that you download trial versions and then google for serial number or cracks, that would be wrong Title: Re: WMA to MP3 Post by: Ironside on November 28, 2006, 08:03:14 PM they easy thing to do is use WMP or real player burn them to cd
then rip them from the cd into an mp3 file Title: Re: WMA to MP3 Post by: Graham C on November 28, 2006, 08:27:34 PM I use a program called All to MP3 converter.
