At least no-one kills themselves on blonde.

(Link is to a news article, not a video of a suicide)

Sad times.  It's not the first time a kid has killed themselves on webcam.  There was a wee spate (only a couple, not 100's) of it a couple of years back.  The sad thing is that the other people in the chat rooms watching generally encouraged them.

Shame these people don't have many people in Real Life they feel they can talk too rather than the internet friends they don't really know from Adam.

There's been a few "I'm going to kill myself" type posts on 2p2 in its time, and they're generally unpleasant reading as people tend to split into two camps - the genuinely concerned and those egging the poster on.

Ultimately it has prompted the all-too often used acronym on there, YSSCKY, standing for You Should Seriously Consider Killing Yourself.  Its used as a flame without second thought on there.

its dreadful to think of folk egging people on to do that. no self respect or respect for life in my opinion

Purely from a moderation standpoint, it's quite amazing they allow threads that include threats of suicide to continue to be posted on.

They should be locked down.

At a previous job, I had a suicide threat reported to me that resulted in a police force on a different continent visiting an individual and removing a gun from them that they had just bought and planned to use on themselves.

I got an email of very heartfelt thanks some weeks later.
