Title: Re: Newbie! Post by: mex on December 04, 2006, 06:56:28 PM I played helsinki last year, shame they moved it from Dec to Jan as i would of tried to qualify again. I think flushy will agree that it is a good 1st big tourney to play in. The dealers were top notch the field managable, the treatment of the players 1st class, rare raindeer for diner anyone?, (yes JP it was raindeer you were eating). The casino card room great, you play in a ballroom!! You can nip next door into the shopping centre for beer and junk food, or as we did a mid night mexican meal with frozen marguritas, (does anyone have the pictures that were taken inso email em to me).
Word of advice, if you won your seat via a site that makes fleeces and woolly hats get one it can get very cold out. The structure was cool 20k stack 1 hr levels ,(didn't stop me donking chips off in 4 hrs), but i did better than tikay, BUT I MUST NOT GO ON ABOUT IT cos he bought me lots of drinks and a meal, I am well jealous, good luck. Title: Re: Newbie! Post by: CATHER on December 04, 2006, 07:51:19 PM I'll be donating again Kev, yes! Guess you will be too? lol
Thanks for the info mex, a few mates are gonna come with me, I thought it was for a bit of support, but they want to go for a bevy!! So the question is......How much is it for a beer? Cheers folks! Title: Re: Newbie! Post by: madasahatstand on December 04, 2006, 07:59:38 PM welcome cather ;welcome;
Title: Re: Newbie! Post by: mex on December 04, 2006, 09:41:59 PM Er... I have to be honest.. I didn't buy any, Simon Trumper, Joe Grech, Tikay, and John Raab bought it all ,and another guy who i can't remember bought me lots of irish coffees. I general i remember it being pricey for beer not bad for food. Try and get into The Radison Hotel as it is next door to casino and you can spend hours in hotel lobby meeting players and getting drunk/playing poker laughing at drunk scandi's.
