Post by: Irishdenis on December 04, 2006, 02:06:58 PM
Have just spoken to lady at Luton who confirms that tonight is sold out. Just in case any of you are travelling without a seat.

I'm used to traveling without a seat, When we were young we went everywhere in my dad's lorry. My Mam and the smaller children used to sit with dad in the cab, there was no room for me so I used to ride on the back.

Great fun in the summer, but on a rainy winters day 30 or 40 miles with a sheet chucked over you and the wind whistling around your nether regions could be quite bracing!

Ahhh! Those were the days.

oooo thats just invoked a memory... going to a Man City game in the back of my dad's open back truck, in the middle of winter...

it'd been snowing hard..

my brother and I were bored...

so we started making snowballs and launching them at passing cars etc ( I was about 11)

and one of them slid straight off a car roof and hit a copper in the face... oops ( thank god we lay straight back down!)

Oh red you make me think back to those rough and tough old days. Once when I was returning from boarding school the heater on the Rolls broke. Our driver had to walk for miles in the snow to find us a replacement car. By the time he got back I was so late home my au pair could only tuck me up with a little teddy. Hard times indeed.
