Great fun in the summer, but on a rainy winters day 30 or 40 miles with a sheet chucked over you and the wind whistling around your nether regions could be quite bracing! Ahhh! Those were the days. it'd been snowing hard.. my brother and I were bored... so we started making snowballs and launching them at passing cars etc ( I was about 11) and one of them slid straight off a car roof and hit a copper in the face... oops ( thank god we lay straight back down!) Once when I was returning from boarding school the heater on the Rolls broke. Our driver had to walk for miles in the snow to find us a replacement car. By the time he got back I was so late home my au pair could only tuck me up with a little teddy. Hard times indeed.
