Title: A bit lame this Post by: ACE2M on December 05, 2006, 03:35:22 PM £50 live freezeout blinds of 50/100 - i have 4500 from a starting 8000
after 1 1/4 hours of no hands i limp in with Ks Js from mid position cut off and hijack limp to Big blind with 9000ish raises to 400, hes a decent player so i have no reason to think hes doing this with junk especially as the cutoff is loosey goosey and calling lots of raises. I call (through boredom/desperation) the other 2 limpers call as well. Flop comes Qh 8h 8d big blind checks I raise to 1100 the other limpers fold and the BB calls quickly he then thinks i'm all in and starts to flip his cards, i point out i have chips so the turn is dealt. turn is Jd He quickly moves all in Whats he got? and Call or fold? I call (through boredom/desperation) to me the rest of the post is now immaterial - your mindset is that of someone who has already resigned themselves to the fact that they are not going to win. In the face of an out of position preflop raise from a player who you know to be good and you are calling out of boredom/desperation with someone still to speak behind you. Even if you had the best hand when the cards are turned over unless you are capable of getting "in the zone" at the flick of a switch then i fear that you would still continue the tournament with the wrong mindset which would lead to further mistakes later in the tournament. for the record though if i was in the hand then i would pass, though your probably going to tell me you called and he had 10's ;) Title: Re: A bit lame this Post by: ACE2M on December 05, 2006, 04:20:00 PM i'm aware of my mistakes in the hand just got a bit bored of people giving their chips away all around me with junk and me not getting any of it.
I was just confused by his all in regardless of my mindset. Title: Re: A bit lame this Post by: tantrum on December 05, 2006, 04:21:27 PM 8xo? scared of the flush? ;D
Title: Re: A bit lame this Post by: matt674 on December 05, 2006, 04:24:23 PM i agree - once the Jd appears it puts a possible straight on board with 2 different flush draws and a whole host of straight draws on board. Your opponent knows you to be short stacked as he thought you were all in on the flop and now decides he's willing to play his hand to the end and therefore goes all in.
