Title: the music business
Post by: AdamM on September 13, 2005, 12:45:24 AM
prompted by an off topic wander on the Tattoo thread I thought I'd ask this question. Before I walk away from music as a prospective proffession for good, does anyone out there in Blonde world know someone in the recording industry who'd be interested in listening to what my band has to offer?

We're called FLUFF, and we're a pop/punk band. Someone once said about us "If Greenday and The Darkness made whoopee, Fluff would be the love child" We are a high energy, relentlessly upbeat band with infectious hooks and memorable melodies. We have 20 or so top class tunes which, if not picked up soon, will slip away into the Ether for ever.

The Singer and Drummer are both 18, the Bass player 25. the reason I'm walking away is I'm 32 and I have a suspision that's too old. The band will probably continue without me and so if my age is an issue a much younger band is available too.

I know it's a long shot but if there's anyone out there who can help[ please let me know.

I'm no expert on music but when I first started listening to it, my favourites were the Stranglers (mostly over 30) and UK Subs (lead singer about 50), age probably isn't that much a barrier. Other commitments might though. Good luck with it.

PS

One of the guys at my work has his own band, they seem to a lot of self made CDs and stuff for selling at gigs. Seems to keep things ticking over and built up a fan base.

If you leave the band and they make it without you I hope you have some lyric credits!
Any thing that sounds like the Wonder Stuff is great by me. Green day is close I guess.... get a demo pressed and I bet you could shift a couple of dozen on here alone.
