Title: Wish me Luck! Post by: Poppet7 on December 14, 2006, 02:18:03 AM Having been out of a job since mid-September, I am now desperate for employment! I have my first interview tomorrow, it's to become a Healthcare Assistant at the mental hospital (a bit scary because I've haven't had much experience working with people with mental disorders) So, I have been revising the Mental Health Act as well as common Mental Disorders and Treatments.
The interview is at 2pm and I'm really nervous! I need all the luck I can get! Title: Re: Wish me Luck! Post by: charmaine on December 14, 2006, 02:21:13 AM Goodluck , your do great at the interview I'm sure :)up :)up :)up

I'm feeling more confident now and I hope that 2 years of studying Psychology is going to pay off today. When I was a carer I worked with a few people that had mental health problems, and yes I do come on blonde with you lot so I guess thats more than enough experience ;)

It seemed to go very well, there was another girl there in her early 20s and another woman around 40ish. We were ahown around the ward and then the interview went really well, they seemed impressed with my other experience (kids/elderly/downs syndrome) and said I will know within 5 working days. Fingers crossed! Title: Re: Wish me Luck! Post by: Claw75 on December 14, 2006, 04:42:15 PM best of luck Soph - sounds promising ;goodluck;

If I had seen this early enough, would of gave you some pointers, and relevant questions to ask. However, sounds as though the interview went well so not needed. Title: Re: Wish me Luck! Post by: I KNOW IT on December 15, 2006, 12:27:29 AM A visitor to a mental institution asked the director how he decided which patients should be kept in?
The director said "We fill up a bath ,then offer the patient a teaspoon,teacup or a bucket & ask them to empty the bathtub." The visitor said" Oh I see, a normal person would would choose the bucket ,because its biggest" The director said" No, a normal person would pull the plug out. Would you like a bed near the window?" Good luck by the way, and if you get this test at the 2nd interview, dont choose the bucket ;D Title: Re: Wish me Luck! Post by: vinni on December 16, 2006, 12:04:55 AM lol craig ,good luck poppet.
