Title: Poker MuZak
Post by: TightPaulFolds on December 14, 2006, 08:04:11 PM
On quite serious tilt the other night I did the unforgiveable and bought into a big money heads-up affair on Everest against some crazy jackal english guy. Thanks to my utter fear of losing £100 for just 25 minutes of poker, I managed to get a 6-1 chip lead over him. At this point, out of the blue, he started reciting song lyrics to me, changing track depending on the flow of the game (maybe trying to distract me). He started off with a bit of Aretha Franklin 'Killing Me softly' as I jabbed away at his stack, bluffed a couple of pots to Gloria Gaynor 'I will survive' but kept his Daniel Bedingfield for when he was down to 3 big blinds 'I gotta get through this!'. I got him in the end thankfully and put the cash towards a new Ipod, but now want to cram some inspirational tracks onto it for the next big battle. Any suggestions?

would be near the top of the list, I think. I'll check with the Cincinnati Club that silk dressing gowns and loud entrances are still allowed...

Roberta Flack done 'Killing me softly'

My fave to get me going aggresive is Shimmee the wobble' (joke name)... Its the music from Gangs of New York, just before the go into battle. The Celtic music.

For calming down purposes its 'Ravels Bolero' for its contance, it never moves, and keeps you calm..

Try typing that one in the chatbox.... LOL
