Title: Why can I play when I don't really want to?
Post by: Ginger on December 17, 2006, 10:45:30 PM
My youngest is a bit poorly tonight with earache and ended up on the futon in my study, it was the only place that she could get to sleep (with Enya blasting out - it's always works since she was a tiny baby). Anyway, I didn't really want to get into any heavy games in case I had to attend to Caitlin, so tonight while all the big boys are playing the large Sunday tourneys, I was playing a action point freeroll just to past the time more than anything.

Now, I don't really play MTT's anymore for various reason, but tonight when I couldn't give a damn in this silly 190+ player freeroll, I make it to final table and eventually get busted in 6th!

My first MTT final in MONTHS and it's in a freeroll!!!!  ;technophobe;

Somebody kill me now, sigh

Get Well Soon, Caitlin...

I understand what you mean, though about playing when there's no pressure - sometimes it just seems to all click when you don't really care.

LOL, it's similar to a sofa bed.

What makes this FT worse/more odd, is that it was Omaha H/L! I don't often play it but really enjoy it when I do, and if my memory is correct I seem to do quite well at it. Perhaps I should take it as a sign  :dontask:

Thanks for the well wishes Zim, she's a little angel, it seems so unfair when she's unwell.

Futon - it's like a sort of Japanese Sofa-Bed.

Hi Lo is the new Hold'em :D

Played a PL Hi Lo S+G by mistake on Stars recently; 5 players all-in on hand 1 (pot-re-pot-re-pot-all-in-call-call-call-call.)

It was carnage, and I was like...  ;popcorn;

Looks like an Ikea product.......

I'm sure they do a sterling trade in futons, mainly because of the simplicity of design and multiple functionality (Ikea being famous for such things).

The classic futon is an adjustable frame of wooden planks, covered by a mattress - the wooden frame adjusts from a flat (bed) position to a roughly L-shaped (Sofa) position... unlike the Western Sofa-bed design, where a metal bed-frame is concealed within an upholstered sofa and needs to be 'unfolded' into position.

They take up less space than either regular beds or regular sofas, and some can even be set to a 'half-way' position if you want something more like a reclining armchair than a proper sofa.

Yep, it's from Ikea, but it's a metal frame instead of the traditional wooden type.  This is near enough my one, it has this sort over cover than encases it so it doesn't have that student feel about it, it's actually a really nice one.

Gotta love how these threads change so quick lol

Why would I want to get out more?

I think you seriously underestimate how comfortable futons can be...
