Personally i think a poll like this is wrong - I think all the mods do an equally good job and its impossible for me to pick one, i dont want to be held responsible for the feelings of whoever comes last in the poll because who ever it is does just an important job as whoever wins.

To all practical intents & purposes insofar as it refers to me, "Admin" is the same as "Moderator". Except, I don't do much.

Seeing as I've managed to piss most of you off at one time or another this year, I have taken the liberty of voting for myself.


I disclose this in case the poll is seen to be irregular at a later date and I have to front up to accounting discrepancies.

I think this poll should serve as a warning to potential new moderators.

Being a mod will make you unpopular!

Over the course of a year, you will upset a lot of people that you consider to be your friends.

You will spoil their fun, remove their posts, give them final warnings, and sometimes, suspend their accounts.

You will spend half your time trying to do your job without upsetting the members, and the other half trying not to upset your fellow mods.

You will switch your computer off at night, and be unable to sleep because you have fallen out with someone you like, admire and respect.

Believe me, popularity contest it isn't!

But don't forget the perks of the job, Red:

My vote goes to Tighty, he seems to be more willing to get involved in the hard stuff more than some of the others. I also see him on here more than the rest.

I also know that when i have been a pain on the forum he is the person who comes to me to ask me to cool it.

i never used to get to my bed before noon

and i was normally woken up 15 minutes later by some guy from a frgien call centre askng if i wanted a 3 phone or asking how many windows i needed replacing

This isn't to say that the rest don't work as hard. You'd be surprised how much discussion goes on behind the scenes, just because one is the spokesman when it comes to moderating the thread, doesn't mean that he was acting alone.

Also, you may find that some moderators prefer to mod via pm if possible, therefore not displaying their moderating as much as others.

I can assure you that Tighty, Red, Kev, Sheriff and Rod all work their socks off, whether it's clear on the open forum or not.

In terms of forum presence, I think Red actually holds the record for amount of time spent on the forum.

Yeah sorry i meant more so than the others, didn't mean to imply they sit about doing nowt.

I wasn't referring to time on Forum either, since Tighty has been a mod i doubt there is anyone who spends more time on here than him, especially in the last 6 months.

He takes part in all most every discussion and starts many himself, these are also things mods should do imo.

I voted Tighty because in each of the 100 or so PM's I've had being told off, he teaches me a new 15 syllabul word each time.
