Title: Thewy Lack the Festive Spirit......
Post by: tikay on December 24, 2006, 02:18:09 PM
.....or so it seems.

After netting over £11,000 last Sunday in Notts, he simply ran over the field in last night's £250 Freeze at The Broadway, winning the Final in a canter, "hard-held", & winning outright, with no deals, & another £7,350. He's right back to form, after having a lean spell since before Vegas. Welcome back Fella.

A nice field, too, with plenty of blondes.

Ali Mallu Finalled aftrer Mallu-ing half the field, including Rob Yong, who he one-outered early doors.

Other early exits included Marc "Mr Cool" Goodwin (is there a more popular player on the circuit these days?), Dave "el blondie" Colclough, Micky "Lord" Wernick, & speech-play experts Nick" Quantify" Slade & Mick"Slick Kid" McCool, the latter of whom made a quite splendid laydown of AA on a 9 high flop. It was, as it turned out, a bad laydown, (Matey Boy had 6-6) but few folks can get off AA, fair play to him, as 6-6 man played his hand beautifully.

Red-Dog exited relatively early, too, & so did yours truly, after enjoying extremes of fortune. I got unbelievably lucky when I found AK & got called by AQ, & then I ran AQ into AK & the board came a straight! But the Poker Gods were determined to be even-handed, so bust my K-K against T-T (first card Ten) & my AK was turned over spectacularly by QJ Man making a move, all-in pre, when the board came A- (lovely) K - (lovely) 3 (that's fine) Q (don't do anything silly Dealer) Q (WTF?).....Amazingly, & luckily, I won £930 in the Cash-Game while waiting for Maria & Thewy, & I had a % in JT!

Maria (Chili) has been bang out of form, but is grinding her way back, & was heart-breakingly unlucky last night, after being low-chipped for 5 hours, it was Bubble-Time, & she found KK, how good was that? Not good at all, Matey Boy had AA.....! Oddly, another guy busted on the other table, on the same hand, (it was hand-for hand) but Maria outchipped him, so it was a surprise that she only got half the 10th place Prize. Ah well, evey little helps.

A great evening, thanks to all at The Broadway, (especially the excellent Raj, a GREAT TD).

I think he may miss the Copenhagen EPT. He's likely to be "busy" that week......
