Title: I know , another 7/4 story, enjoy Post by: wsopin07 on December 27, 2006, 02:22:23 AM This tournament hand matchup was featuered in last months issue of xxxxxxxxx and got my attention really quick. Im pretty much gonna jot down everything from the article.
This hand featured John Juanda(7d 4c) and GLynn Beebes(Ad 8s) WIth the blinds at $200-$400, with a $50 ante, everyone folds around to John Juanda ($30,000 in chips) in the small blind, and he raises to $1200. Glynn Beebe ($25,000 in chips) reraises to $5,000 from the big blind, and Juanda reraises to put beebe all in. Beebe studies juanda for several minutes before calling. The FLop: Qs 10h 4s The Turn: 7c The River: 2s Wow, to put all yur chips in with Ad 8s was crazy for beebe to do that imho. And, holy cow the aggressiveness from Juanda is crazy to do that with his cards. I wonder what Juanda was thinking when beebe turned over his cards.. i wish i coulda seen teh facial expressions of both players when they turned over there cards before teh flop and when the hand was over Note: Stealing (and protecting) the blinds is key part of tournament strategy. Beebe had a strong enough hand to defend his big blind from Juandas attack, but he raised too much, hoping to win the pot right there. Juanda picked up on this weakness, and knowing beebe didn't have a strong pair, put him all in. Even if Beebe made the call, Juandas cards were certainly live, and he would still have a decent chance of winning the hand. Juanda went on to reach the final table, staying aggressive the entire time. wow, now reading the article again i noticed it says "Even if Beebe made the call" lol did he make the call or what? now this bugs me. But wow, what do you guys think about the aggressiveness from juanda and the call that beebe supposedly made? Do you think Juanda played this hand waaay to aggressively? I wouldn't have called that if i were beebe.. to risk all yur chips with that hand was jus silly. Tell me what u guys think about that.
