I suppose the likelihood of being paid meaningfully is so remote I might as well bet it earlier? the turn?

bet pot on flop check turn bet pot on river

Yep makes sense

I seem to have a blind spot that has me trap checking monsters until I bet too late/they are obvious.

i agree with the flop bet

if you scare everybody off then so be it
for the 9 times they pass the 1 time they call and make a bg pot  will more than make up for it

Deffo bet monsters out, dont wait for river esp on draw heavy board. Charge them to hit, even when they are drawing dead, that way should they catch up on turn river, they think they are in business and are often pot commited. Otherwise, they get there for free and you earn no money.

In a tourney  i play it like Claimer

I make a small bet on the flop. A lot of players will see it as a weak attempt to steal or an information bet. You might induce a re steal or a caller might hit the turn and be forced to make a bigger bet at what is now a better pot.

Also, especially online, once a pot starts to build, it has a knock on effect, everyone wants to get involved in a big pot for a small fee.

Overbet the flop - most people will see this as a steal attempt.

Check the turn, and overbet the river.

Correct, they will see it as a steal attempt, but more often than not they will still fold if it's too expensive.

Don't forget captZEEbo's law. Push the river.

Not at £1 £2 Red, not from what I have seen.

People tend to "fold" to a value type bet, and call an overbet. Be it on the flop/turn or river

Are the players bad enough at £1/£2 to make up for potentially paying twice the rake that $2/$5 players pay?

Had this situation on a cash table 2 nights ago on $1 $2 nl table.

I am BB with KQ o/s

Guy from the cut off raises 4xBB. SB folds and I call

Flop K K K

I bet out $7 into the $9 pot.

Origional raiser calls VERY quickly - tells me he has PP or A rag.

Turn = 4

I check, he checks.

River = 2

So now with only $23 in the pot, I run the clock down and move all in for just over $200!!

He calls, with AA and proceeds to rant on about online poker being rigged!!! LOL

SHIP IT!!
