I wouldn't have called, but you got the kind of flop you were looking for and are prob in a race vs a small stack.

errr thats it.

You don't call pre flop or you dont call the 8k?

I dont call pre - I virtually never call pre at this stage in tournies.  I prefer to rr laggy players or raise myself if every1's too tight.

I def play the flop the way u do, but thats a no brainer.  Although the small stack prolly has AA or some other monster.

The small stack had passed.

Average chips was 10k at this point in time so i decided not to RR, that would be my normal action, i fancied in the cutoff i would be better off taking a flop with position and playing it from there, its kinda went bad when the Button who was chipped up also called.

Sry didn't look at the buttons exact stack - realised he had less than you, but didn't realise he had 80% of your stack.

I hope the button has AA KK or QQ and u outdraw - bad play should be punished mercilessly.

having called pre-flop you have to call the flop IMO..there's no way I'm passing this draw when I've already stuck 1/3rd of my chips in the middle.

Was a case of mixing it up coming back to bite me in the ass!

He had AQ, i miss.

How do we like his play? And that of the raiser (his lame flop bet)

I think the AQ played ok - I might have bumped it pre, depending on how busy the first raiser had been previously.

I'm sure these small bets have a place in an overall stategy, but I rarely employ them.  They can put a bit of a pressure on a middle player in a multiway pot, but I cant see how they give much of an advantage to the orginal raiser.  In this case he prob had TT or something like that, but the bet never gets a queen or flush draw to fold.

i don't call preflop unless the player was very loose or if he was in the cut off and me on the button
