I got the same a few weeks ago.

The joke was that the only money in the account was theirs; they had put $11 in my account to 'welcome me back' just two days prior to charging me the admin fee....

Now, we KNOW that the lovely folks who run Party Poker are the world's worst (by design I suspct) at Customer Service, & the world's worst (ditto) at PR.

But, given that they ARE hugely successful, one assumes there is a method in their madness. Did some Marketing geek in HQ wake up one day & say "hey, I just had this great idea boss. We'll write to all the inactive Accounts & rub 'em up the wrong way, that'll bring 'em all flocking back"?

I mean, DOES it work, or are these guys really stupid?

i installed an update for party poker, sat down in a $33 rebuy comp and couldn't see my hole cards or any chips! a joke i was playing blind the whole comp. they have refused a refund because i played hands. yet the only hand i played was when i went all in and lost. so quickly cashedout out and uninstalled the software.

Party Poker or "poker poker" (as you state at the start of your Post). Be careful, "poka poka" is another site.

you all miss the point...its not a marketing manager gone mad...

they want you think "bollocks, I'll just play a hand or three to save the charge"and then they can reclassify you as an active customer from a dormant account when they report shortly to their shareholders....which makes the results look better .."look how we are keeping our customers" etc etc

if you leave, they don't care

if you stay they get to claim the charge

its win win win for them

not that I am at all cynical

Don't forget that, pre-ban obviosuly, Party Poker was the most popular online cardroom in the World. They must have been doing something right.

Pedantic correction. NOT the most popular, but the busiest.....

You laugh now, but you'll all end up on Party one day anyway.   They've just signed an agreement with Playtech, who bought Tribecca not so long ago.

There's just been a RNS

RNS Number:8482O PartyGaming Plc 02 January 2007

2 January 2007

                                PartyGaming Plc
                          Playtech Licensing Agreement

PartyGaming, the world's leading listed online gaming company, today announces that it has satisfied the software licensing condition applicable to the agreed acquisitions of the assets, players and gaming related contracts associated with Empire Online Limited's gaming business and all of Intercontinental Online Gaming's business and assets.

A four-year software licensing agreement covering the key online gaming websites being acquired from Empire and Intercontinental has been concluded with Playtech, the world's largest publicly traded online gaming software supplier. The terms of the agreements, which will replace the contracts that Playtech has in place with both Empire and Intercontinental and which are conditional on the completion of the sale of the Empire and Intercontinental assets, are not being disclosed.

Online gaming websites operated by Empire and Intercontinental include: NoblePoker.com, Clubdicecasino.com, EnterCasino.com, MissBingo.com, FairPoker.com, and MagicBoxCasino.com.

Founded in 1999, Playtech is listed on London's Alternative Investment Market. It has more than 300 employees, of which 250 are engaged in research and development of current and future gaming technologies. All of Playtech's products support multiple currencies and are available in several European and Asian languages. The Playtech gaming platform can also be fully integrated or run in tandem with PartyGaming's gaming systems.

and from this morning first things

LONDON (AFX) - Playtech shares were 1-1/2 pence higher at 243-1/2 after the group said it has signed a long-term software licensing deal with PartyGaming, subject to the completion of PartyGaming's acquisition of certain businesses and assets from both Empire Online Ltd and Intercontinental Online Gaming Ltd.

Playtech said the four-year agreement provides for online gaming websites currently operated by EOL and Intercontinental to remain exclusively on the Playtech platform, but did not give any financial details of the agreement.
