They should never have made this, it's bound to be a disappointment.

How can you possibly top the ending of the last one... Warren's returning line, Egg finding out about the affair, and Millie's stunning right hook on Rachel (was that her name?).

Awesome.

Will still watch it though, naturally.

Well I never thought of that.....  ::) lol

Yes that would be a simple solution, but one of my NYR is to be more disciplined, playing more poker!

thought it was a massive disappointment....storyline was too contrived, and the setting was all wrong.

God, wasn't it just awful? Showed that the only decent character was Anna, and then they gave her very little to do. All the others were shown up to be very one-dimensional. The filmmaker woman was horribly out of place, hopelessly contrived and only went to bring into focus how little the programme would have been able to hold itself together by only having the main characters.

The writing was terrible, there were no great lines or scenes - dull as ditchwater. Even the choice of background music was desperately obvious. It seems there was a very good reason why Amy Jenkins went on to write precisely nothing of interest after the original series.

Never mind, Shameless starts on the 9th :)

That's never been quite as good since James McAvoy and Anne-Marie Duff left.

Never mind, Life on Mars restarts again soon.

I also forgot to mention that Miles's hair was very bad indeed.

I'm not just a bundle of negativity - thankfully my evening's viewing was redeemed by The Thick of It on BBC4, the funniest thing I have seen in a very long time.

Well what a pile of cr@p that turned out to be...................

Why does every drama on the BBC end up with a load of middle class wasters, in some fu@king great poxy country house, full of angest, unfullfillment, and shed loads of baggage/problems.

What's with the riding round on horses, with inapropriate clothing,no helmet etc.

There's so much more I could add ............................but I just can't be assed.

PS.And........ the guy who slagged off the other guy for having a 4 /4, in a hissy rant, I'd have stoved his face in.

PS- You do know that

1: It's not real.

2: You don't have to watch it.

Now now Tom.......................

I did think i'd give it a go,suppose I was taken in by the hype.

But......................I could only give it about 10 mins of my time ( I missed the first half, cos I was watching Simpsons on sky one), before my utter incredulation at what I was suffering forced me to return to my computer, to downlad some Irish rebel music.....................which I played over the end of the prog at full blast.

By the by, wouldn't you love to be in the script team on the simpsons,it must be a riot to go to work each day.

Andy,

The thick of it is a hidden gem isnt it.

My wife is a civil servant and rolls around saying things like'that really happens' and almost wet herself at the 'Cameronesque' blog.

I hope it gets the wider attention it deserves. It was just about to break out after winning the British Comedy Awards last year but then took a hit after all the Chris Langham *ahem* unpleasantness - don't know if this special will be on BBC2 at some point.

The thing I love it that it accurately portrays the younger political types as exactly the kind of naive sheltered nitwits who go straight into it from student politics.

Plus Peter Capaldi, of course - the single greatest comedy performance since the one before the invention of sliced bread.

If anyone did record the first episode, I could earn some good brownie points if I could have a copy on DVD - I'd happily pay whatever costs there are.

Cheers
