Title: Poker P&L Spreadsheet 2007
Post by: Smart Money on January 03, 2007, 03:24:44 PM
Hello. I'm a regular poster on the Betfair Poker forum, but I don't think I have posted here before. I have put together an Excel spreadsheet that some may find useful in recording their poker performance. The following is a copy of the post that I put up on the Betfair forum:

---------------------------------------------------------

Sorry for the short delay. The beta version of the Poker P&L Spreadsheet 2007 is now ready.

Rather than ask for everyone's e-mail address I found a website which I have upload the file onto. Go to this link to download the spreadsheet(s):

http://www.esnips.com/web/SmartMoneysPokerFolder

There is a blank working version, and an Example Data version which shows what the various graphs will look like once data has been entered.

If you don't have Excel, then there is a very good free compatible spreadsheet that you can download here:

http://download.openoffice.org/2.1.0/contribute_bouncer.html?product=OpenOffice.org&os=win&lang=en-US&version=2.1.0

Brief instructions are included on the front page of the spreadsheet, but basically all you need to enter each day is your start/end balance and number of hours played. You can also enter your monthly cake back amount and this is proportionally divided between each day played during the month based on number of hours.

Bare in mind that this is just a beta version, so there may be one or two additions that I will have to make. If you find any problems or have any suggestions for improvement then please post them here.

SM :)

Just a small point, really: it's nice to see a link to the non-Microsoft option, except you appear to have posted a link to a specific download version (at a guess: Windows, US English, v 2.1.0), which might not be the correct one for every user (for example, a French Solaris user six months from now).

A better link would be simply to the main OpenOffice.org site: OpenOffice.org (http://OpenOffice.org), and then users can choose their own correct combination of operating system, language, etc.

850KB is not particularly big for a spreadsheet containing a fair amount of data and graphs.

I'd have thought the fact that you can see it's been downloaded over 150 times without any Virus comments posted on the download site would be enough to satisfy most people that the program was written with the intention of helping people with their poker progress as opposed to fucking up their PCs. :)

(I may be a newish member here but anyone from the Betfair forum will vouch for my integrity- for what it's worth :) )

Nice Avatar Smart!

Cheers. It was taken in advance of the Betfair Team event last September. I had the T-Shirts made for my team and took a few photos to show everyone. :)

No problem. I hope it shows a profit for you!

No probs smart money, wasnt too worried, but i know there are a few helpful poker tools that do contain a few malware bits n pieces, Ill compare it with the 2 plus 2 sheet i use now and keep the one i prefer.
