Title: What would you do? Post by: Ladyskye on January 07, 2007, 08:25:58 PM On friday i entered a $2 sat to the sunday million on Pokerstars, mainly due to the reason i was drunk but i still wanted to play poker. Anyway i won it , but the question is do i play in the Sunday Million or take the $200 that would be a nice bonus to my pretty small bankroll?
Title: Re: What would you do? Post by: Claw75 on January 07, 2007, 08:28:37 PM I'd take the $ I think...
Title: Re: What would you do? Post by: Ladyskye on January 07, 2007, 08:31:30 PM Thats what i am leaning to, thats why i asked the question.
Cheers Claw... Title: Re: What would you do? Post by: dan on January 07, 2007, 08:33:47 PM if i was you id play. i might give you some good experience to play a comp above your bankroll. you will definetly play your best game as you will be more focused and probably think hands through more than you normally do.
you never know you might cash in it and get more than your $200 back, if not hopefully you will gain some valuable experiance. good luck if you play. Title: Re: What would you do? Post by: jakally on January 07, 2007, 08:50:59 PM Play it and think of it as a $1 million freeroll. Enjoy. Title: Re: What would you do? Post by: Sark79 on January 07, 2007, 09:10:44 PM I would take the $, it is a guaranteed $200 that could buy you into many more mtt rather than just one
Title: Re: What would you do? Post by: Ladyskye on January 07, 2007, 09:23:57 PM Thanks to those that replied at short notice, I have decided to withdraw as the chances of going deep with 5000 entries are slim even if i was to play my "A" game. There are bound to be other opportunities in the future and I might even suprise myself.
Cheers again... Title: Re: What would you do? Post by: Graham C on January 07, 2007, 09:27:39 PM I'd take the T$ too, you can have plenty of bashes at qualifying again with the money and play some other tourneys too.
Title: Re: What would you do? Post by: Eyeofsauron on January 07, 2007, 09:50:02 PM Personally, I'd have played and tried to learn and enjoy the experience of playing in a big event. But there's no shame in taking the entry fee and playing in smaller tournaments either. Congrats on winning the sat. though!
I've started playing the multi-table tournies on Stars again after a long break, so we may end up playing on the same table sometime. I just finished in 6th place in a $3 Razz tournament and finished in 13th place in a freeroll HORSE tourey last week (There were over 2500 runners). So I'm slowly getting back into the groove. I'd forgotten just how much fun tournaments can be! Title: Re: What would you do? Post by: FlyingPig on January 07, 2007, 11:37:57 PM Play Play and Play.....
I hope you changed your mind... I qualified like this the first time i played and done well, and have never looked back since. There are a lot of people who play in it who are your general run of the mill players, and even lesser players, who have touched lucky and qualified. Of course there are the good players, but all them plays and moves you have read about and seen, they work against this type of player. Even if you would of lasted a couple of hours, it would of been a great experience for $2.20 (triple shootout i'm guessing?) with the chance of winning a few bucks... Title: Re: What would you do? Post by: boldie on January 08, 2007, 11:31:07 AM the problem with the stars mill is that the start time is a pain in the neck for such a big comp. If you will do well you ain't showing up for work the next day (even if you finish 200th or something)
I always play the rebuy sats the the million and warm up (yesterday they were mad..8.80$ rebuy to the mill created 140 odd seats out of 600 runners) they are very easy tourney dollars and it 's a great way to build up a STT/MTT bankroll. Take the 200$ everytime and then play more rebuy sats. Just take the rebuy at the very starts and from then on only push with premium hands. KK/AA just push the chips in you're bound to get a caller in these things. Take the add-on at the break and just watch people get knocked out. build yourself up to around 30k and you should be fine (though it tends to get tight at the end as people stall a lot to get small stacks in trouble..very unsporting) then unregister and go again..and then play STT's/HU/MTT's to make proper money (or sell you tourneydollars to some other stars player) and cash out. rinse and repeat. Ladyskye - if you aren't sure (and it's too late now anyway if you've already played), but take the T$, and you can always enter it another week - or go for the nicer starting time of the Sunday Warm Up. Or enter shed loads of smaller MTTs instead, or play the sats Boldie-stylee. Title: Re: What would you do? During the week about 15% of all players get a seat..this saturday and sunday about 20-25% did..absolutely mad. Title: Re: What would you do? Post by: Graham C on January 08, 2007, 01:12:37 PM I'm going to give these a bash and try and get a nice build up of T$. I did try one last week but didn't make it, but I'm confident I can do it.

The only tourney I have ever played that was loser then these sats was the tenner rebuy on stars (35k guaranteed) man what a mental tourney that is. |
