About 110-120 seats are now taken. The jump in numbers since yesterday is due to online qualifiers being added in to the sales/live qualifiers, but I would strongly advise anyone wishing to play to go and buy in directly in the next day or so from their nearest Grosvenor casino. Max capacity is 200.

Jim, easiest way from the airport is by train. Direct trains every half hour. Takes about 40-45 mins. The casino is well within walking distance from the train station

To get to Bolton you haven't really got much choice! Far too many buses, no metro link yet close enough for Bolton and a taxi would cost a fortune. I think you still may have to change in Manchester city but it should be pretty straight forward.

Car would be easiest though, just jump on the ring road and you're near enough there.  ;scarymoment;

Tomorrow's event is indeed a £200. Apologies for the incorrect info being up ion the GUKPT site.

With regard to branded clothing from other companies, here is the info, which cam also be found on the Terms and Conditions page of the GUKPT webiste.

Logos, images and branded clothing are permitted at GUKPT events; however they are subject to the following restrictions:

-One larger logo, of a maximum of 9cm x 9cm (or 16cm x 5cm) is permitted on the breast pocket or front of shirt.
-Two smaller logos, of a maximum of 5cm x 5cm are permitted, on shirt sleeves, back of shirt or on a cap.
-Logos are not permitted on any other items of clothing.
-Logos on card protectors are permitted.

Player on the final/feature television table must also adhere to the following guidelines:

-Caps and card protectors with logos will not be permitted.

No more than 10 players ay any GUKPT event can wear branded clothing or other display logos of any single company, with the exception of the Tour Sponsor (Blue Square Poker).

No more than 2 players on the final/feature television table can wear branded clothing or logos from a single company.

Any player starting the final table or starting an appearance on the feature table without wearing branded logos, must remain wearing no branded logos for the duration of the final/feature table session.

The GUKPT reserves the right to ask a player to remove or cover up any logos, words, images or distinguishing marks from players’ clothing. Players refusing to comply may be removed from the tournament and have winnings withheld.

The decision of the Tournament Director is final with regard to all issues relating to the wearing of branded clothing and logos.


In addition to this, players must declare if they are sponsored or going to represent any company on the release form which all players must sign prior to the start of the tournament, so there can be no bidding wars when it gets to the final table.

I'm in a perfectly light hearted frame of mind. What I was doing by posting those rules was responsing to a question that Tikay had asked by providing the relevant info.

If you have worked on something tirelessly for months its pretty annoying to see some someone slate it as bs without a second thought.

If you can't take being bitten back at when you make a derogatory comment about someone else's work, I suggest it is you needs to lighten up, or don't make such gratuitous comments in the first place.

Its not quite sold out yet, but I believe sales were put on hold for a while they collated all the buy ins from other casinos around the country. This was so that they could ensure they don't oversell. At 1.30am last night there were 30 seats left. The remaining seats can only now be bought from Bolton. Sales from other clubs have been suspended.

Hope the frist event goes well jonathan, im pretty sure ill be attending one of the others when im in the country, :-)

you do know you'll get a pasting as soon as you get back from Oz, right? there will be a horde of blondites waiting for your plane to land...and not to cheer you on ;)

200 f/0    25 seats sold according to bolton at 8pm last night.

only 85 runners last night for the 100, which was a debacle,so little chance of 200 selling out imo.

I rang last night and was told not too many seats left, so i bought in at local ,...hm ... they musta told me porkies ...oh well not to worry...lookin 4ward to a night out ..

if you got your reciept I'm pretty sure they will have to honour it maureen. see you on friday.

if theres only 90 or 100 runners it will still be a good event. The fact so few have been sold already makes no odds, how many are normally sold the day before any other 200 event? most people will just turn up and buy in imo. A good few are coming over from blackpool.

That's what i thought too, but when they said it was almost full and i knew it was my only chance of a night out, didn't want to miss out.

I realise this is late, but I went to the Victoria Casino in London yesterday to buy-in to the Bolton main event after having been told on the phone that I could do this, only to be told that all of the seats had been sold. Please could you let me know asap if there is the possibility of obtaining a seat, whether it means you reserving one for me which I can then pay for in Bolton or via Victoria. I attended the Poker Six event you expertly co-ordinated last year and came 6th, so I'm hoping to continue my good form in Bolton! Thanks,

It's Midland Mainline OR Virgin Trains from Derby to Sheffield, then the TransPennine Express (a misnomer if ever I heard one) to Manchester Piccadilly, then Northern Trains to Bolton.

Alternartively - fascinating this - you can do Central Trains from Derby to Stoke, Virgin from Stoke to Manchester Piccadily, then Northern Trains to Bolton.

There is another option, via Manchester Oxford Road, but that's hardcore stuff.

I'm gonna surprise myself, just turn up at Derby & decide then. How cool is that?

well interesting start to the event , perhapsin hindsight blue sq should have held this event at a casino that runs no tournements over 10 buy ins
get this for a first night


1. restaurant refused us entry at 7pm cos there was 4 people booked in

they found room and sat us at 7 but our food arrived at 7.50. and there was 9 diners in total who alll refused to pay for the food , first time for me but the chef turned my seas bass into a poppadom.

2 we started the event 100 rebuy , 2 levels of 45 mins, then a 15 minute break, the local dealers were really struggling , but the luton an walsall lads saved the day , well for our table. at he end of the rebuy our 15 min break became 45 mins !!!

.3 14 mins into the 3rd level they announce , the chef had cocked up and there would be an hour break for the buffet

4 they then had 7 tables with 6 7 8 seats and when questioned they said they will chop at the break.


5 THEY ANNOUNCED THE MAIN EVENT WAS SOLD OUT , SOME GUYS PUT THERE NAME ON THE RESERVE LIST . THEN THEY ANNOUNCED THEY HAD ONE SEAT AS A BS QUALIFIER HAD DROPPED OUT.


6, WE WENT INTO THE CASINO AT 5 PM TODAY AND THEY SUDDENLY HAD 30 SEATS LEFT , SO MUGGINS HERE SPENT 20 MINS AND 2K BUYING PPEOPLE IN WHO THOUGHT THEY HAD MISSED THERE CHANCE THE NIGHT BEFORE.


BUT IM STILL LOOKING FORWARD TO THE MAIN EVENT .....  GREAT TURN OUT ,,,,,,,,
