Title: They're Not Salmon OR Pink Post by: snoopy1239 on January 11, 2007, 05:00:42 PM After purchasing my supposedly 'pink' trainers a few months back, I have been treated to an array of verbal abuse from the likes of Colchester Kev, Anthony Chessa, Stuart Fox, and many more. I won't mention any names, but I have been mentally corrupted by these continual chants of "Pink shoes! Pink Shoes! Pink shoes!".
As you may be aware, I have counteracted these unwarranted jibes that have subsequently been questioning my sexuality by suggesting that the shoes were 'salmon' in colour. Whilst deep down I knew they looked nothing like salmon, I thought it was my only defense. Over the last week or two, I have been gradually coming to terms with the possibility that they are indeed, and dare I say it, pink and that maybe, just maybe I'm not quite as hetrosexual as I look. Yes, I have big guns, yes, I do have a muscular physique, but when I look down at the 'pink' shoes, I tend to wonder if I really am as manly as everyone makes me out to be. Deep in depression and considering my next step towards reaffirming my masculinity, I was suddenly enlightened by a comment Jen made last week. When discussing my shoes, she made the comment that they were not salmon but pink, and"very close to fuchsia." "So they're fuchsia then, not pink," I replied. "No, fuchsia's a shade of pink, so they're definitely pink," said Jen. "Are you sure?" I asked. "Isn't fuchsia simply fuchsia, or at least a type of purple or something." "No it's pink, accept it, your trainers are pink" Unwilling to accept this, I quickly booted up the laptop and checked out a colour code. After browsing the net briefly, I finally found a chart and it was clear that the colour of my trainers matched the little square entitled 'Fuchsia'. The next step was to confirm that Fuchsia was indeed a type of pink. So, laptop still blaring away, I dipped into dictionary.com and came up with following definition... "a bright, purplish-red color" Now, if I'm not mistaken, there is no mention of pink here. It clearly says that Fuchsia, and therefore my trainers, are RED. RED, RED, RED. You hear that buckos?.. RED. So next time you feel like mocking my 'pink' trainers, think twice, because they're not pink, they're RED, a PURPLISH-RED! The defense rests its case. ;thankyou; Title: Re: They're Not Salmon OR Pink Post by: NoflopsHomer on January 11, 2007, 05:04:10 PM (http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=16297.0;attach=9035;image)

Good to see someone secure enough in their sexuality that they can wear pink... I think Teacake's got a favorite pink shirt so that's 2 of you. Title: Re: They're Not Salmon OR Pink Post by: Sheriff Fatman on January 11, 2007, 05:08:20 PM OK then, fuschia trainers.
What about the pink socks? Title: Re: They're Not Salmon OR Pink Post by: snoopy1239 on January 11, 2007, 05:09:40 PM I'm colour-blind & even I can see that they're pink! Good to see someone secure enough in their sexuality that they can wear pink... I think Teacake's got a favorite pink shirt so that's 2 of you. The light from the flash has made the fuschia slightly pinky in that particular. See them in person and you can definitely see that they are fuschia, which is a shade of red. Title: Re: They're Not Salmon OR Pink Post by: snoopy1239 on January 11, 2007, 05:10:09 PM OK then, fuschia trainers. What about the pink socks? My trousers normally cover them... ;ashamed; Title: Re: They're Not Salmon OR Pink Post by: AndrewT on January 11, 2007, 05:17:10 PM "Snoopy gets tired of the abuse on the forum and decides to go for a walk in his red shoes"

So I think Fuchsia is just a form of Pink mate... Nothing wrong with that though - I used have pink hair! ;hide; Title: Re: They're Not Salmon OR Pink Post by: happybhoy on January 11, 2007, 05:39:34 PM You could always say they are 'Bazooka-Joe Pink' while not getting away for the fact that they are indeed pink, at least you can introduce the word bazooka into the description.
Title: Re: They're Not Salmon OR Pink Post by: snoopy1239 on January 11, 2007, 05:40:08 PM How about Bazooka-Joe Red?

Title: Re: They're Not Salmon OR Pink Post by: Ginger on January 11, 2007, 05:59:30 PM I have just asked my daughter "what colour do you think that is, Jen?" because we all know that girls are an expert on all things pink.
her reply "it's black" "not THAT bit Jen ::), the colour next to that" "it's pink mum" (looking at me rather puzzled) So I tell her those feet belong to our Blondite reporter Snoopy, and her even more puzzled reply was "is he gay or something?" What's that old saying.... 'Out of the mouth of babes....' Title: Re: They're Not Salmon OR Pink Post by: AndrewT on January 11, 2007, 06:05:39 PM I actually like Snoopy's shoes but I wouldn't wear them on that carpet - they clash horribly.

What's that old saying.... 'Out of the mouth of babes....' As I said, that pciture is deceptive because the flash has brightened everything (my skin is much more bronzed too!). In the flesh, they look like Fuchsia, which is the colour shown below. I would just like to say that I fully support Smoopy in his bold choice of footwear, and I think you're all being very childish. Also, that pair of pants that someone posted up looks not entirely unlike a pair I wear on special occasions. Nothing wrong with them.
Oh, and Bongo, 10 English pounds to you if you can talk Smoopy into dyeing his hair pink! He won't listen to me... Title: Re: They're Not Salmon OR Pink Post by: MrsLime on January 15, 2007, 12:35:39 AM ah, a discussion about colours it is hard to really get anywhere here, because there are no strict definitions (AFAIK) of such colours as 'pink' and 'fuchsia' in the hsv colour model, 'red' is the colour with hue: 0, saturation: 100%, and brightness: 100% one might suggest 'pink' as being the group of colours with a reddish hue, moderate-high to high brightness, and low to moderate saturation similarly 'magenta' has hue: 300, saturation: 100%, and brightness: 100% one could propose that when he says 'fuchsia', he is actually referring to a group of colours with magenta-like hue, moderate to high brightness, and moderate to high saturation it would be tricky to impose numerical definitions on such terms as 'reddish', 'magenta-like', 'moderate', or 'high' these groups are not mutually-exclusive: it is possible that a particular shade could be described both as 'pink' and 'fuchsia' for example, this box has hue: 330, brightness: 80%, saturation: 50% -- is it pink, fuchsia, or both? (http://img455.imageshack.us/img455/4603/untitledxc3.jpg) introducing such further modifiers as 'light fuchsia' or 'blueish pink' defenestrates these already shaky frameworks so it is possible to debate this until we are blue in the face ...for appropriate definitions of blue, of course Title: Re: They're Not Salmon OR Pink Post by: raab11 on January 15, 2007, 12:57:38 AM pink to make the boys wink? Like the pink shoes wouldn't have that effect on their own. If he ever went out, I mean.
That's WENT out, not came out.
