Title: Good Luck Blue Square, Grosvenor, & Alright Jack Post by: tikay on January 11, 2007, 10:36:35 PM Tomorrow sees the start of the 2007 Grosvenor UK Poker Tour. It's the first (APAT apart, & that's for a different Market) Nation-wide, deep-stack, well-structured Series I can recall in the UK, and it's got added value, too. Tournament Poker is, slowly & painfully, getting itself organised, & I wish the organisers every success with their 2007 Tour. It really is not easy to set these things up - trust me! - & there's gonna be a bit of stone-throwing for sure. John Duthie had a right struggle to start up the EPT, but look at it now. I for one hope it's a stunning success. Jonathan Raab is one of poker's nice guys, & whether some of us like to admit it or not, Tournament Poker in the UK without Grosvenor would be a disaster. I don't think Jonathan needs good luck this will only go from strength to strength, for all the regular UK players this is the best thing that has happened ,and added MONEY. Anybody know what time on Channel 4? Title: Re: Good Luck Blue Square, Grosvenor, & Alright Jack Post by: ripple11 on January 12, 2007, 07:16:52 PM Foggy, just come acrosss : "showing later in the year".....so no set date yet . Title: Re: Good Luck Blue Square, Grosvenor, & Alright Jack Post by: AlrightJack on January 13, 2007, 11:51:34 AM Thanks everyone for all the support. It has beena great relief to me that the 1st event sold out. OK so there were only 197 starters and a sell out is 200, but 3 players couldn't make it on the day for various reasons - one had an unexpected bereavement and two of them were in a car that broke down just outide London en route. Rumour has it that the driver filled his petrol car up with diesel, doh! It's still classed as a sell out.
Transmission on C4 starts in August but the exact date is yet to be determined. I was ill earlier in the week and suffered a number of nose bleeds during the day yesterday. What with all the stress of getting it off with as few hitches as possible I didn't really enjoy yesterday but was pleased with the way it went. Have had a good solid 5 hours sleep last night though and am looking forward to day 2. Title: Re: Good Luck Blue Square, Grosvenor, & Alright Jack Post by: AlrightJack on January 13, 2007, 12:33:45 PM There's going to be another Poker 6 but its in June, here in Bolton, so unfortunately it does clash with the WSOP.
