Title: Cristiano Ronaldo Post by: Nem on January 13, 2007, 05:41:01 PM In twenty years time, we will be saying...
"Ronaldinho was a great player, so was Zidane. My Grandad use to talk about George Best, and Maradona was even better than the rest, but Cristiano Ronaldo is the greatest of all time." Title: Re: Cristiano Ronaldo Post by: Jim-D on January 13, 2007, 05:49:48 PM :goodpost:
The man is playing some great football and i hope people keep booing him so he keeps it up. Title: Re: Cristiano Ronaldo Post by: Graham C on January 13, 2007, 05:52:09 PM the greatest? Never, well I'm certainly not going to admit to it...wee smarmy git.
He's having a good season. Title: Re: Cristiano Ronaldo Post by: The Baron on January 13, 2007, 06:05:29 PM He is awesome.
2 years ago he was inconsistent and sometimes lacked an end product. Right now he's one of the top 2 or 3 on the planet. Title: Re: Cristiano Ronaldo Post by: Nem on January 13, 2007, 06:06:58 PM :goodpost: The man is playing some great football and i hope people keep booing him so he keeps it up. He's only 21. If he keeps developing at the rate he is doing - he will be the best. The boy has everything. He will be better than Ronaldinho - mark my words. Hmmm.... we'll see. Ronaldinho is more influential in big games - so far anyway. I guess it's hard to judge a 21 yr old. I thought he was average in that world cup - fluke goal aside It belonged to Rivaldo and Ronaldo IMO Title: Re: Cristiano Ronaldo Post by: The Baron on January 13, 2007, 06:24:01 PM He will be better than Ronaldinho - mark my words. Title: Re: Cristiano Ronaldo Post by: Rooky9 on January 13, 2007, 06:25:10 PM Now he is staying on his feet is is being so much more effective. He could well go on to be better than Ronaldinho, he is scoring and creating more right now, its just whether he can maintain and develop on that.

Title: Re: Cristiano Ronaldo Post by: The Baron on January 13, 2007, 06:30:56 PM Fair enough. Still a bit harsh to say he wasn't as effective at that age. He was there when Brazil played some frighteningly good football.
I'm happier Utd have Ronaldo than Ronaldinho any day of the week. Bit gutted Real didn't buy Ronaldo this summer though! Title: Re: Cristiano Ronaldo Post by: Rooky9 on January 13, 2007, 06:48:47 PM I'd chose Ronaldo over Ronaldinho, based on attitude.
Title: Re: Cristiano Ronaldo Post by: The Baron on January 13, 2007, 06:51:35 PM I'd chose Ronaldo over Ronaldinho, based on attitude. How so? Title: Re: Cristiano Ronaldo Post by: mjrevie on January 13, 2007, 07:25:50 PM I'd rate Ronaldinho higher just now just simple cause i think he is more innovative than ronaldo. Ronaldo imitates skills developed by others but if you watch wee clips of ronaldinho, i think there is loads of things that he has sort of invented that have taken dribbling and ball skills to a new level. I'm not saying Ronaldo wont do the same, but for me just now it has to be Ronaldinho.

Title: Re: Cristiano Ronaldo Post by: Rooky9 on January 13, 2007, 07:34:51 PM I'd chose Ronaldo over Ronaldinho, based on attitude. How so? Ronaldinho is know for beig an aweful trainer and when you watch him play he strolls around all the time without any team running or work. Now this is all well and good as long as he keeps coming up with moments of magic. He may also be harming the length of his career by having the attitude he does (loves the booze). I don't think his ethic would lead to him being as big as a success as Ronaldo is/will be in the PL..... and I hate Man U Title: Re: Cristiano Ronaldo Post by: The Baron on January 13, 2007, 07:37:50 PM I'd chose Ronaldo over Ronaldinho, based on attitude. Romario, Ronaldo and now Ronaldinho. Could be worse.... he could be a diving, cheating winker! ;) Title: Re: Cristiano Ronaldo Post by: Nem on January 13, 2007, 07:52:48 PM I'd rate Ronaldinho higher just now just simple cause i think he is more innovative than ronaldo. All the tricks you see him do, are tricks he has seen on the internet and he practices them at training or after training - that's what he said in a recent interview. Title: Re: Cristiano Ronaldo Post by: Triple X on January 13, 2007, 11:24:22 PM Ronaldo is definitely playing amazing football at the moment and is a great attraction for the Premiership.
Its a bit like Beckham 1998 onwards - do people not relaise the more you boo and slag off players with the right attitude like Beckham and Ronaldo, the more this will inspire them to be better. I think that has something to do with his performances this year. What amazes me is his heading ability - incredible how well he heads the ball. Not sure will be saying hes the best ever tho. Certainly on his way to the top 3-4 foreign players to grace the premiership, along with Cantona, Henry and Zola. Probably wont be in the premiership tho in 1-2 years time which would be a real shame Title: Re: Cristiano Ronaldo Post by: ChipRich on January 14, 2007, 12:12:02 AM Ronaldo is having a fantastic season, really starting to come of age..although i dont like to admit it.
Cant really compare him to the likes of Roanldinho yet,he is only 21 still, but has the potential definately Got to say though i thought Ronaldinho was a bit of a let down this World Cup, maybe he just doesn't look quite as good alongside other top Brazilians Title: Re: Cristiano Ronaldo Post by: Horneris on January 15, 2007, 12:11:12 PM Ronaldos awful, a cheating diver postuguese git.
Well he has great potential and is having a quality season but i cant admit that as im a Leeds fan. Title: Re: Cristiano Ronaldo Post by: Acidmouse on January 15, 2007, 12:26:41 PM Stick your neck out why don't you, 2 player of the months awards and 13 odd goals already.

I can't even begin to compare Ronaldo with the likes of Maradonna and Zidane. Not our fault though and we'll still go to every game. Title: Re: Cristiano Ronaldo Post by: Acidmouse on January 24, 2007, 10:05:44 AM Yep league one with so many local derbys. Wonder if he still thinks he will be able to charge £37 to watch them? lol.
Bradford, Hudds, Rotherham, Doncaster, Chesterfield, lots to look forward to! |
