Title: Omaha starting hand help please Post by: Graham C on January 13, 2007, 06:02:46 PM I seem to get a lot of mid/small double pocket pairs starting hands like 9h 9s 6s 6h and 7c 7d 6d 6s
are they worth calling/raising with? Sometimes I call, sometimes I just dump them. Last time I hit a straight with my 7's and 6's but I'm not 100% sure where I should be going with them. Ta unless your playing with complet donkeys you want to be folding this double mid pairs i mean what do you want to hit? you have little(or no) chance of a low and any straight is likely beat, particularly with several players in. im sure youve heard it before but, if you cannae scoop fold. Title: Re: Omaha starting hand help please Post by: tantrum on January 17, 2007, 02:46:22 PM Silo, if you have any hand in Omaha you have to dissect the hand and see what is left:
SO 88 77 87 88 77 87 As it is a game of draws your cards are not live enough. Many people think like holdem when playing Omaha, and this is how good omaha players make money. With this hand you are only hoping want to hit a low straight, and a set /full house which can be outdrawn by higher nuts. your flush will be probably to low, so - trash hand L.P you might see a flop, providing you know how to play post flop Omaha. Title: Re: Omaha starting hand help please Post by: Graham C on January 17, 2007, 10:19:02 PM Interesting comments, thanks everyone. It was normal PL omaha - not hi/lo, just hi. I think I've been playing them not too bad, folding mostly, perhaps calling now and again. I'll call less with them!
