Post by: ariston on September 19, 2005, 08:09:28 PM Think Tikay /pontecarlo also deserve the thanks here- this has come about because of the gutshot comp last weekend were the head of betfair poker was present and the raffle raised about £800 for you. Ben asked what P4C was all about and it was explained to him what you did. Pontecarlo on here "sold" the raffle tickets for you by simply going to every person and saying give me a tenner- no asking everyone was told and then handed a ticket, he was the organiser of the event at the gutshot and did a great job.

I don't know who Ben and pontecarlo are but money (£850) did come to us by way of the raffle which helped secure Betfair's corporate sponsorship status. Thank you to everyone who made it possible.

what happened mate was i helped organise a betfair live forum game at the gutshot last week (i am Mandylou on there , pontecarlo on here) - along with ruru and ben fried (betfair poker manager) it was all the main boys of the betfair forum that played - quite a few are on here as well, noteably ariston and tikay betfair gave me a bag of freebies including shirts ,caps ,sunglasses SS2 etc etc and asked me to distribute them - i didnt fancy giving them out and the ensuing arguments on who got the best prizes so i suggested a raffle and as the prizes were free , i thought about your charity my persausion on the selling front seemed to work raffle ticket mate ? how much? a tenner whats it for? a ticket? what do i win ? a prize what though ? just give me a tenner and shut up moaning you tight b*****d so basically all there donated a tenner for a prize , but there were no complaints - i think the total was £850 so i gave it to RuRu to make sure it got into the right hands - i am sure it will be put to good use and glad i could be of help |
