I'm on Players Pleaze already EW...where did you get this from? If you have a decent source I might stick some money on it. I am rather surprised at the short price Challis is (11-8) which is why I went against it...loads of EW shouts in the race and Challis is no good thing judging by his past runs..so it makes me think there's something going on.

hmm i have a spare £44 in my Hills account and its best price here at 9-1. Are you sure about this one though as it looks a wide open maiden?

Thanks

My pal told me about this horse, he rings me once every 2 months if i'm lucky, he's definatley not 1 of these tip everyday types he wats until he knows whats going on, the last 3 horses he has given me have all won, 10/1, 8/1 and 7/1. I know the favourite in this race is 11/8 that might be why he said each way. If it makes you feel better ive had £100 each way on it. Dave

OK Thanks mate...looks a strange race this one...I simply don't believe the favourite..I'll stick a tenner EW on yours as a back-up to mine.

Thanks.

Sorry boys and girls, i did my bollox to. Bit wierd this morning it opened up at 14/1 then before the races it was 4/1 but went back out to 9/1 at the off  ;boltpp; ;frustrated;

not that uncommon when also a short priced favourite is obviously being bet in the race as well, although to go from 4's out to 9's in such a short timeframe was a bit worrying.

interesting to note is was also jason weavers nap on ATR...

boldie's other horse won it

Boldie just backs the favourites though.  ;whistle;

Its expected to win 8 out of 19 times at a price of 11/8.

its funny, everytime someone gives a tip. the source always seems to have won his last three naps at lucrative odds. I must be a right jinx to always end the run,

each way is for losers... if you don't think its gonna win why back it?

I agree totally. One of my theories. Unless the horse is like 50-1 n the tote, ill never bet EW

hmmm I really don't understand this way of reasoning. This is like saying "feck it, if I can't win a STT I'd rather bubble", only one thing matters when gambling and that's making a profit. if a horse is 8-1 and you think it'll win but you can also make a profit if it finishes second  you always go for the profit. I didn't stick a 5'er or a tenner on him but a substantially larger amount and I would have been OK with him finishing second as it would means a decent enough profit.

You also always have to think of gambling in an ROI kind off way. If I think a horse will win but it finishing second or third would still make me 50% I'll take the 50% anytime if offered the choice between "Oh well it ran a good race in second shame I only backed it to win" or "Well dissapointing it ran second or third but atleast I made some money out of it"

EW betting at certain odds is for people who want to make money. Backing horses to win only at those odds is for people who like to gamble. I don't give a F about the thrill of gamling. I want to see a profit in my pocket that's all I care about.

just my two pence.

if i was going to play an STT and thought, i proberbly won't win this but i might get 2nd or 3rd, i wouldn't be sticking my money in this situation. i don't think backing E/W does give you a good ROI, but i don't think horse racing gives you a ROI anyway. IMO  :dontask:
