It appears as though Stuart Rutter is the first departure of the day.

15 minutes into the 50/100 level and we still have very few exits, one of the few has been identified, and he is Helge Stjernvang.

Jens Christian Christansen has also been eliminated.

Nick Slade -- 4,200
Pernille Ravn -- 13,250
Claus Nielsen -- 4,475
Johnny Lodden -- 15,250
Steve Vladar -- 13,100
Daniel Philips -- 9,525
Edgar Skjervold -- 6,950
Isabelle Mercier -- 5,600
Jani Sointula -- 5,02

Looks like Charles Harvey has left us.

(1) Stuart Ferguson -- 6,800
(2) Colin Ogden -- 16,350
(3) Ken Jensen -- out
(4) Lasse Havord -- 8,375
(5) Peter Davidsen -- 16,130
(6) Claus Nielsen -- 4,300

(8) Maximillianos Trigas -- 14,900
(9) Johnny Lodden -- 12,300
(10) Peter Fischer -- 10,425

As I joined the aforementioned table, Ogden and Trigas were fighting it out over a 7k pot. With a board of 4d 2d Js 6c 9c, Trigas had (virtually) moved all-in for 7k, leaving just shrapnel behing. Ogden eventually folded, but still has a decent stack.

(1) Steffen Van Khoa Do -- 13,300
(2) Pepjin Harting -- 17,325
(3) Morten Stenheim -- 5,200
(4) Daniel Dodet -- 5,500
(5) Frederik Hostrup -- 17,450
(6) Michael Beaton -- moved or out
(7) Michael Gustafsson -- moved or out
(8) Richard Toth -- 5,950
(9) Pernille Ravn -- 15,756
(10) Nick Slade -- 5,800

(1) Henrik Sorensen -- 9,225
(2) Thomas Lamatsch -- out
(3) Annette Obrestad -- out
(4) Pal Hersleth -- 5,825
(5) Bernard Boutboul -- 12,825
(6) Jan Johannessen -- 11,200
(7) Michael Qvist -- 11,575
(8) Peter Eichhardt -- 10,700
(9) Ole Hausner -- 13,200
(10) Steve Vladar -- 13,100

(1) Brent Wheeler -- 14,400
(2) Mikael Linqvist -- 10,550
(3) Les Kerrigan -- 14,875
(4) Bent Mortensen -- 21.025
(5) Martin Stalros -- 3,400
(6) Marco Lucidi -- 18,025
(7) Albert Kirk Iversen -- 2,900
(8) Allan Nilausen -- moved or out
(9) Martin Kloserman -- 10,900
(10) Xuyen Pham -- 10,525

Table's 7's missing a few seats, but I do know the following counts:

(1) Marcin Doliwa -- 15,025
(2) Samir Shakhtoor -- 8,400
(3) Harrison Williams -- 19,150
(4) Peter Hedlund -- out (K-Q vs J-J)
(6) Johan Storakers -- 11,825
(8) Erik Lindberg -- 19,625
(10) Stuart Rutter -- out

Elimination on Table Six - Martin Vallo gets his last 4k in on a Jc 3c Qh flop against Jan Petersen - he shows Ad Qc, while Jan has Qs Jd.  The Tens on the turn and river are no help, and we've got another table of nine.  Here's its chip distribution:

(1) Erik Bardsgard              couldn't count; still in
(2) Jan V Petersen              15,350
(3) Christian Oman               6,200
(4) Patric Bueno                 10,400  (says he's already been down to just 1,000.  "Steady on," was the meaningless advice I could come up with)
(5) Ole-Petter Nilsen            20,200
(6) Martin Vallo                       OUT
(7) Eoghan Arthur O'Dea      14,300
(8) Klaus Frederiksen            13,300
(9) Dennis Plejdrup               6,300
(10) Daniel Fritze                  5,500

One more, in its full glory:

Table 2:

(1) Tune Seidelin           14,000
(2) Thomas Elmkjaer         4,500
(3) Morten Erlandsen       11,300
(4) Michael Frendsen        10,600
(5) Christer Johnansson    7,800
(6) Jan Erik Saugstad        8,400
(7) Paul Testud               8,075
(8) Torstein Iversen        12,100
(9) Tobias Persson            10,950
(10) Christer Conesson     17,800

More chip counts:

Table D.C.  (3, for our reference)

(1) Peter Jepsen         12,200
(2) Jonas Torrang         Moved*
(3) Claus Marcussen      7,300
(4) Erik Bjorklund            4,225
(5) EMaarten Meijer        9,000
(6) Runar Pedersen         6,625
(7) Dave Colclough           12,600
(8) Conny Hillbom           4,300
(9) Thang Nguyen Duc   11,000
(10) Morten Siversten      14,500

* this guy, according to Dave, "A young, good-looking Scandinavian" (well that narrows it down) was apparently running over his table.  DC rates him highly, so I'll look for stacks over 20k.  "So, are you pleased he got moved?"  I asked El Blondie.  "Yes," he replied.

Table 9

(1) Shahin Hajbarati             21,500
(2) Helge Stjernvang           Moved/Out
(3) Anders Johan Kuhl           8,000
(4) Marcello Haener              10,525
(5) Dario Minieri                   5,250
(6) Daniel Raymon Bodin        7,500
(7) Ricki Nielsen                    12,800
(8) Jonas Helness                10,300
(9) Luca Pagano                   11,000
(10) Erik Nickelson                14,200

Isabelle Mercier is OUT -

She got it all in with A-K vs. A-A on a King-high flop - thanks to Simon Young for the detail

Torstein Iversen gets a double up courtesy of now down-to-felt Christer Johansson.  Only caught this hand when they were on their backs (no idea how 20k+ managed to get in on the flop of 2s 4d 8s)...
Torstein showed:  Ks Kc
Christer showed:  Qd 8d

Turn and river:  9s Kh - they deal the board really slowly and methodically - pause, deal face-down card in position, pause, turn it over - so there's always time for an excited crowd to gather.

So, it looks like Mr. Roche might well be our chip leader, now with over 35k (towers, again).  Close behind is Patrick Bueno's 32,000, while a few are heading that way:

Mats Iremark       24,000
Morten Sivertsen  21,500
Anders Berg        19,000
Luca Pagano        18,500

Les Kerrigan is OUT.

Queens versus the Aces of Marco Lucidi.

Board = 6c 4s 6h 7c 3h

Post by: Djinn on January 17, 2007, 07:33:13 PM
Also exiting in the last 10 mins was Bad Girl Xuyen Pham - she'd had under 4k for what seemed like most of today, and it all went in with Ahrt 3h against Qc Jc.  A spiked something (Steve was unclear, or I didn't hear) and she's off on the rail.

Peter Jespen eliminates Thang Duc Nguyen too - his Ac Ks hit both pairs against Nguyen's Qh Qs.

Down to 130 players.
Blinds 150/300, ante 25.

Title: Re: EPT Copenhagen Day 1A - At a Glance

Peter Eichhardt loses 6,300 doubling up Matey... I think some went in preflop and the rest on the 9d Th 3d flop - Peter had 8d 8s, and Matey Ahrt 9c.
Turn: 6h so gutshot Seven saves Peter...
River:  4c  And he shakes his head as he pays up.

3 Requests in priority order-

1- DTD Birds 10 pictures from a variety of angles

2- A sandwich exactly as Dana just described it....mmmm

3- Chip count on Nick pls... though if u can only do 2 out of 3....

Well, I have one. Not sure it's the one you wanted most, but...

Nicolas Slade has 10,675

After his shaky start, I saw him checking a river (heads up, second to speak) on a board of A-Q-rag-rag-rag, with about 4,500 in the middle.  He showed Qs 7d and that dodgy hand won a nice early pot, edging him back up to his current 11k or so.  "Gifts from the gods..." he muttered.

Noah Boaken is OUT.

Slighty unlucky too.

Moving his shortstack all-in from early position with Q-Q, Noah found a call in Johnny Lodden who called, and hit, with his A-T.

Board =  Aspades 3c 4h 3d 9s

Peter Fischer -- 38,400
Jens Klaning -- 27,625
Jonas Helness -- 27,500
Richard Toth -- 26,450

Peter Roche -- 25,025

Double up for Peter Roche, whose towers had crumbled ever so slightly - we think his neighbour, whose stack was so big he was still left with 28k+ after doubling Peter to over 45k, is Eric Lindberg...

Anyway, I saw Peter's chips being counted out by the dealer in preparation for matching them, and his hand was 5c 5h vs. the Ad Ahrt of Big-stack.  We all can see what happened there - the board was 4h 5s 2c Ks Qh.

Then a really odd one for Peter Eichhardt and, if the seating chart can still be relied upon (sorry for lack of prior knowledge of a lot of these guys) Espen Saltnes.  I'll call him 'Seat One.'  Anyway, Peter had raised preflop to 1,500, called somewhere in mid position, before Seat One pushed all-in for a little less than 10k.  Think, then call from Peter, run away from caller.  Reluctant to show his hand, Seat One asked, "You have a pair?" before revealing his 8h 8s.  "I haven't got much either," said Peter, showing Aspades Jd.
Flop:  6d 7c 8d  so far so good for the all-in
Turn:  5h
River:  9h  Chop.  They both get 750 from the preflop folder, though.

Nick Slade's had a hard time getting off the starting blocks...just when he looks to be getting over 10k, something happens to drop him back down to around 8k (where he is presently).  His latest loss involved calling "a Scandie preflop raiser with Aspades Kd."  He got an unwelcome second caller, and the flop came K-J-Q.  Original raiser Matey bet out, Nick raised, and then "that plum Dutchman re-raised.  I folded and he showed K-J."  Doesn't mince his words, does Nick.

Just saw him move all-in for what at the time was 6k over the top of cutoff raiser Pernille Ravn's raise to 1,200.  She said, "very bad timing."  "Who for?"  "For me."  And passed.

Meanwhile, still in the secondary room (which is down to just three tables - player count now 102), Johnny Lodden has yo-yo'd his stack back up from under 7k to over 20k.

This level (300/600 ante 50) will be the last played tonight.  Originally planned was a nine-level day, but apparently they're being too efficient at reducing the field so we're going to get an early night.

Post by: Djinn on January 17, 2007, 09:51:58 PM
Frode Fagerli, short stacked for at least two hours, seems to have gone into multipush mode - just picked up 1,200x2 uncontested, increasing his chips to 5,000 in the process.

I reckon the quick fall in players will soon stall, as the chips consolidate and they find themselves with plenty of play for the blind level coming next.  That's going to make day Two (day after tomorrow) a very long haul...

Meanwhile... Johnny Jensen is one of your latest chip leaders with a pretty chunky 60,900.

Could you do me an update on Daniel please

Actually, yes - he was down to a bowl of rice 3,600.  On the small blind.  Button Frode Fagerli says before he looks at his cards, "If I have Nine high, I'm all in..." then looks and passes.  The coast is clear for him to push on big blind John Persson....and push he does - call.
Daniel shows:  2s Kd
John shows:  Td Jc
Flop:  Js 9d Ks  ("Ooh, that's good," quietly remarks Daniel)
Turn:  7c
River:  Aspades

And he's doubled up in the last 45 mins of play...

After being around 6k only moments ago, Dave has now worked his way up to a much more playable 26,075.

Not one big hand, just a series of big starting hands.

"I haven't found a hand all night, and then, all of a sudden, 4 or 5 big hands in a row. First I won an all-in with Jacks v Fours, then I took the blinds with A-Q. After that, I re-raised a raise with Kings and added some more to my stack before finally eliminating a player with Ace King versus Ace Nine".

--------------------------------

And even more good news for the British warriors as Nick Slade recieves a timely up courtest of the rather wild Johnny Jensen.

Nick made it 1,800 with A-J and Jensen re-raised to 6,100.

Knowing he had to get this one right, Nick decided that he was ahead and moved the lot in for 9,500 in total.

Jensen had a (virtually) obligatory call to make and was forced to reveal his T-5o.

Slade's hand stood up and now he's up and running around the 20k mark.

If something good has happened to DC, something bad has happened to Jonas Helness.  He didn't look best pleased to be on around 5k after having a very good start to the tournament.  He's got the last seven hands to do something about it - Thomas Kremser announced when the clock hit 10 mins that they would be playing Seven more hands instead of waiting for the minutes to tick away.  Interesting alternative.  I think I like it.

The last hand of the night has been played (pretty early finish, huh?) and the bags have been pulled out.

Just at the death, Brent Taylor lost a 15k pot to a fellow American with Nines vs. A-Q (An Ace hit the Turn), but he's still a massive chipper with around 75k, quite probably the overnight chip leader.

Hot on his heels, however, are the likes of Jonas Helness with 50k, Anton Smolyanskiy with 60k and Peter Fischer, who is currently Johnny Lodden's neighbour with 70k.

As the last hand was dealt, the board claimed there were 89 players left with an everage stack of 22,471.
