Down to just 3,600 right when we got in the room...I don't think I would like someone asking about that while I was at the table, so I'll wait and pounce in the break.
Also, incredibly famous Patrick Bruel, who seems to go everywhere followed by hordes of TV cameras, has taken an early (possibly fatal) knock at the hands of slowplaying Robert Norberg. On a board of Qs Ts 4h 2c Patrick bet out 5k, and found Robert pushing in for 3,200 more - but only after some consideration. It turned out that he had that generally-unlayable-down second set: Th Tc, while M. Bruel had just Ahrt Qh and asked, "how can you wait so long..." plainly not convinced that his opponent was ever going to pass. Title: Re: EPT Copengahen: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: snoopy1239 on January 18, 2007, 01:57:02 PM Still early days, but a big hand has already caused a slight stir.
Board = 7d Kd Qd 6d 9d Mark Secher Petersen = 8d 5d Allan Aspholm = Ad Aspades Mark bet 1k, Roy Brindley (who was also in the hand) folded, Allan made it 3k, Mark moved all-in and Allan called. As a result, Mark Secher Petersen is one of the early chip leaders. Title: Re: EPT Copengahen: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: snoopy1239 on January 18, 2007, 02:46:43 PM TJ Cloutier -- 10,235

The board read 2d 2h 3c, and Gerald Lemke was all-in with Pocket Bullets versus the 6h 3h of Erik Koskas. The turn brought a menacing 7h, but the flush never came into fruition as the 8c hit the felt for the River. As a result, Lemke has doubled up to around the 6k mark. Title: Re: EPT Copengahen: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: Djinn on January 18, 2007, 02:58:57 PM Chip counts from table Dan Smith, who after his erratic but very watchable performance in Dublin could be one to keep an eye on chipwise over here...

I salute your ingenuity, sir - done the same thing many a time in the early days. Now, just a matter of roping him in to doing some updating... There's a raise preflop, a Norwegian in the middle calls, Iwan calls with 7-8... Flop: 6-8-9 "The Yank bets 1,200, the Norwegian folds, Iwan makes it 3,600, The Sherman Tank goes all-in, leaving Iwan less than 3k to call...he was up against Kings." Turn: 9 River 8 Meanwhile, Patrick Bruel is OUT, while Kevin O'Connell is back to 9,000 somehow. Title: Re: EPT Copengahen: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: Djinn on January 18, 2007, 04:01:26 PM Hand between Kim Hemmingsen (who moved in on the turn for 4,025 with 3,200 in the middle already) and Rehne Pedersen, who was thinking about making the call.
The board: 7h 4h Aspades 7c. Eventually he called (leaving himself under 2k behind), showing Ac Jc. Kim Hemmingsen had Ad Kh. River: 7d Oooh, say the crowd, and they split the pot. That makes the chips on that table (16) look like this: (1) Mikael Fors 8,000 (2) Peter Swartling 12,625 (3) Tyrone Kerrigan 11,525 (4) Brian Hansen 19,000 (5) Claus Andreasen 4,100 (6) Rehne Pedersen 8,000 (7) Tobias Nebel 2,900 (8) Kim Hemmingsen 6,600 (9) Martin Wendt 14,000 (10) Soren Knudsen 13,600 Title: Re: EPT Copengahen: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: Djinn on January 18, 2007, 04:03:15 PM And Table 17...

Table 14 (1) Steven Heard 10,250 (2) Jeff Kimber 5,125 (3) Mikael Gibbermark OUT/moved (4) Tobias Christensen 11,500 (5) Jeppe Juhl 11,000 (6) Ghassen Yafaoui 12,100 (7) Ole Andersen 8,100 (8) Henric Carlsson 7,425 (9) Hilmar Tveit 10,600 (10) Janno Andersen 12,000 Just saw a hand here when Jeppe Juhl pushed in on a 3c 6d Qc flop, against preflop caller (of his raise, oddly, I think) Ghassen Yafaoui. He got the call for his 4k or so, showing 8c 6c. Ghassen showed Ts Th, and was told, "I am the favourite," by his opponent. Turn: Ac River: I don't even think it was dealt (which is very strange practise indeed). Title: Re: EPT Copengahen: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: Djinn on January 18, 2007, 04:39:55 PM Same room, one table along:
(1) Magnus Gustavsson ? (2) Jan Djerberg 7,400 (3) Jemil Butt 8,900 (4) Olav Haugen 16,200 (5) Morten Skajaa 6,100 (6) Mickael Linback OUT/moved (7) Thomas Osterholt 11,800 (8) Seppo Parkkinen 7,100 (9) Kevin O'Connell 13,000 (10) Pal Skavas 12,300 Title: Re: EPT Copengahen: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: snoopy1239 on January 18, 2007, 04:48:55 PM One table up, I started watching a hand that slowly turned into a marathon of think tanking.
The board read 7d 9s Kh, and I joined it as the chap pictured below (can anyone name him?) was making a 2k bet. Cue first think tank session. Soren Andersen, across the other end of the table, then decides to make it 4k. Cue second think tank session. Turn = 8d Cue third think tank session. Mateyboy checks. Cue fourth think tank session. Andersen moves all-in for around 5k. Cue fifth think tank session. Mateyboy eventually makes a somewhat reluctant, but ultimately justified call with Ad Kd, to be greeted by Andersen's Ks 6s. 9c on the River and we're a scandie down. Sure was a lot of thinking though, Andersen even dwelt before leaving his seat. Title: Re: EPT Copengahen: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: snoopy1239 on January 18, 2007, 04:55:49 PM Sverre Sundbo is OUT.
"I got short on an unfortunate more before going out making a move," weeped the Norseman. The blinds are at 100/200 with an average stack of 12,345. 162 players remaining. Joel Harwood -- 14,500 Ilari Sahamies -- 2,350 Bastion Landehagen -- 19,150 Jesper Petersen -- 13,900 Vivi Seathren -- 16,950 John Kabbaj is still quietly plugging away with 11,425 (not too much progress there, but still in). Meanwhile, just across the table, is WSOP 2006 finalist, Erik Friberg, struggling with just 6,400 in chips. Title: Re: EPT Copengahen: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: Djinn on January 18, 2007, 05:29:30 PM As for the other Request Followees - they're going well:
Kim Vevle 14,000 Simon Persson 13,000 Ghassan El'Hoss 3,600 John Conroy 30,000 Saw Mr. Conroy play a hand, calling the cutoff's preflop raise on the button and seeing a heads-up flop of 8c 9s Kh. Cutoff (Andreas Bardum) bet out 1,000. Quick call. Turn: Qs Andreas bets out 3k. Very quick call. Oh how uncomfortable to be out of position... River: 8d. Check-check and John shows a winning Kc Qd. Just ran into Kinboshi in the hallway who looks pretty perky, discussing short stack Day Two tactics with Mr. Slade... we'll get round to that tomorrow... Title: Re: EPT Copengahen: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: snoopy1239 on January 18, 2007, 06:46:51 PM Marcel Luske found himself in dyer need of a miracle as he moved all-in with Tc 6c on a 2c Js 3c Flop.
What he didn't want to see recent addition to the table, William Thorsson, turn over, was a rather intimidating Ac Jc, which duly held up, even though the Turn brought a scary 6s. As a result of that hand, Thorsson has shot up to 26k. Luske is therefore OUT. ------------------ Meanwhile, the man (or boy) truly transforming into the Scandinator is a young fellow called, Bastion Landehagen. Before eliminating Alan Tornager with Kd 7d versus Qs Ts on an 8h Tc Ks Flop (Turn 9h, River Ad), the little rascal then went on to remove another opponent from the table, his A-K being no match for Mateyboy's A-T on a King high board. Consequently, Landehagen is now quite possibly the new chip leader with just over 50 big ones. Title: Re: EPT Copengahen: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: Djinn on January 18, 2007, 06:52:04 PM Roy Brindley News Now:
Short stacked, he raised to 1,200 preflop (blinds now 150/300), and his immediate neighbour made it 2,400. Suspicious? Considering he was even shorter than Roy (5kish), perhaps... Anyway, flop: Td Th 4s Roy checks, Matey bets 2k. Call. Turn: 6h Now The Boy just pushes in his last 3k, and gets a call from the Aspades Ahrt. Roy shows 8d 8c River: 8h Squeak. A pat on the back from the eliminator to the exiter, but that can't have reduced the bite of that one. Title: Re: EPT Copengahen: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: snoopy1239 on January 18, 2007, 06:55:03 PM Allard Van Der Overa has doubled up and forced Anders Lembing down to the felt in the process with just 4,050.
All-in with Aces, the K-Q of Lembing was no match even with both a King and Queen on board. Board = 6-K-6-Q-6 ----------------- Similary, Vivi Seathren has also suffered the loss of a big pot, her Pocket Kings losing out to her neighbour's Tens on a Ten high Flop, all the most going in after the first three cards hit the felt. As a result, she is now down to 7k after failing to win what was, ultimately, a pretty chunky pot indeed. Title: Re: EPT Copengahen: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: Djinn on January 18, 2007, 06:56:07 PM Following from that, some counts from here and there:

Ace high Flop, Andersen called all-in wtih Pocket Jacks, saying "I've had a great time, but it's time to move", only to watch in dismay as his opponent reveals A-K.
Soon after, however, Ghassa handed some over to his neighbour when his A-Q was outdrawn by Q-9 all-in pre-flop, a 9 coming out second card. Title: Re: EPT Copengahen: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: Djinn on January 18, 2007, 07:38:23 PM John Shipley knocks out William Thorson (aside - apparently after his name, which actually has two S's in it, was misspelt in the US, he's kind of just gone with the new spelling now):
A triple raise preflop, getting the majority of Thorson's stack in the middle, and quite a bit of John Shipley's, and the rest going in on the Jack-high flop. William Thorson's A-A had been spiked by J-J, and the Shipley set sent one of the favourites to the rail... Thanks for the heads up, Suffolkpunch... He re-raised all-in with Ac Qs, and found 7h 8h against him...unfortunately for him, the short stack hit 4-6-x on the flop, and rivered the gutshot 5 (for the most dramatic way of winning that hand, although there were others possible), and he's taken a slight knock as a result. BA says to get Simon's attention you just shout, "Guv!" anywhere in the room and he looks up.
The same hand (Ac Qh this time) was chucked away by Martin Wendt when he'd raised preflop and found Brian Hansen all-in over the top from the blinds for another 5k. Some chip counts: TJ Cloutier 26,000 John Kabbaj 9,000 Jim Kerrigan 12,325 Kevin O'Connell 11,000 (these top four now share a table) Martin Wendt 16,000 Brian Hansen 12,000 Tom McEvoy 8,750 Tyrone Kerrigan 27,000 Simon Persson 21,000 Mikael Lundell 12,000 Vivi Saethren OUT Andreas Hagen 18,000 Bastion Landehagen 52,000 Roy Brindley 18,600 Nil Paulsen 19,000 Jan Sjavik 15,100 Halldor Sverrisson 26,000 James Campbell 24,200 Magnus Petersson 45,000 Jeff Kimber 2,575 Jeppe Juhl 11,200 Title: Re: EPT Copengahen: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: snoopy1239 on January 18, 2007, 09:43:01 PM John Conroy is on 25,050.
His next door neighbour, Thomas Holm, however, is now one of the chip leaders with just over 60k. Everyone folded round to Scandieboy and Holm in the blinds. Scandieboy raised to 1,200, Holm made it 2,600, Scandieboy called and the two players saw a Flop... 4h 5h 6s Scandieboy checks, Holm bets 4,200, Scandieboy makes it 10,000 and Holm calls. Turn = 8c Scandieboy moves all-in for his last 12,000 and Holm calls. Scandieboy = Qc 9d Holm = 7h 4s R = Tc Title: Re: EPT Copengahen: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: Djinn on January 18, 2007, 09:56:57 PM Tyrone Kerrigan more than halves his stack to Martin Wendt:
He limped for 600 in mid position, and small blind Martin checked. Flop: Ad 2c 6d Martin bet out 1,000; call. Turn: 3h Martin bet out 3,000; call. River: Ks Martin bet 6,500. Pause; call. Martin's 3d 3s set was good... Elsewhere, Brian Hansen is OUT after his Ks Kd was outflopped (all-in pre) by J-J, which housed up by the river. And Janne Overa doubles up to 25k, after moving all-in over a preflop raiser (to less than 2k) who called her Jd Js with his 7d 7h, and despite calling for his cards - and more vehemently on the turn when it read 6h 8s 6s 9s - "Five! Ten! No spades!" she won the pot. Title: Re: EPT Copengahen: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: snoopy1239 on January 18, 2007, 09:57:18 PM Jim Kerrigan is currently on 10,500, whilst Welshman Iwan Jones is still running well with 37,350.
Fellow British player Kevin O'Connell has bitten the dust - his pre-flop raise with Queens (button) raised all-in by TJ CLoutier's A-9 in the big blind (about 9k total), only for the Turn to bring an Ace. Title: Re: EPT Copengahen: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: Djinn on January 18, 2007, 09:58:04 PM Blinds now 300/600 ante 75. 87 players still in, with half an hour left until the end of play for today.
Title: Re: EPT Copengahen: Day 1B - At A Glance Post by: snoopy1239 on January 18, 2007, 10:28:28 PM Simon Mycock was down to 2k with 8c 8d vs Kd Ks on a board of 7c 2c Js Kc, that was until the 5c River raked him a bot of 33k.
-------------------- Morten Lund Jensen's previously vast stack of chips has just been partially depleted by Jan Sjavik who won a Kings versus Queens all-in pre-flop battle. Sjavic now up to 64,500.
