Title: Re: Grosvenor Grand Challenge Day 1 - At A Glance Post by: TightEnd on January 20, 2007, 10:24:36 PM Denis O'Mahoney double up news
Raising in late position, semi short stacked, with he is called in the BB by Jim Reid flop Jim bets, Denis pushes in Jim shows the rather heart-breaking turn river back up to 8,000 on his rollercoaster ride of emotions. Title: Re: Grosvenor Grand Challenge Day 1 - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on January 20, 2007, 10:32:22 PM Nick "Ripple" Jenkins knocked out Garry Bush. The latter pushed his short stack in with K-9 against Jenkins pocket Tens, hitting a king on the flop. Ten came on the turn though.

Mark Lowe in the small blind calls as does Peter Gould (High finishing Brit from EPT Baden) in the BB.

Meanwhile, Jonny Hewston raises to 1k and gets 3 callers including Mick Fletcher. Flop comes Kh Th 3h, checked to Mick Fletcher, 2nd to last to act, he moves in for around 6k, everyone folds. Fletcher shows 6s 5s. Title: Re: Grosvenor Grand Challenge Day 1 - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on January 21, 2007, 12:03:07 AM We are just finishing a break, blinds will be 200/400 when we return.

Title: Re: Grosvenor Grand Challenge Day 1 - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on January 21, 2007, 12:26:41 AM Ryan Fronda is OUT. Queens no good against Andrew Georgiou's Kings.
Title: Re: Grosvenor Grand Challenge Day 1 - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on January 21, 2007, 12:49:25 AM PeteL is OUT. The players on his table told me that Nik Persaud raised the button to 1,100 playing a 17k stack or so. Pete made it 20k with A-Q from the big blind "I f**ked up, I made a s**t move," Nik called with A-K and doubled up. He then lost the rest with Eights to Tens. Joe Grech has 17k, "I keep bluffing them away" as he has a crafty fag break.
Title: Re: Grosvenor Grand Challenge Day 1 - At A Glance Post by: TightEnd on January 21, 2007, 12:54:46 AM Table 1 has Steve Templeman in seat 1, Ambro Morreale in 2, and Damon D'Cruz in 3

First, Mick McCool (Slick Kid) doubles through Big Trevor Reardon with J-J against A-K. Mick Fletcher wins his race with A-K against Neil Channing's T-T and Nick "Ripple11" has around 20k now when Paul King didn't believe he had an ace on an A-A-9-x-x board. Blinds about to be 300/600, avg stack is 16.2k and there are 63 players left. Title: Re: Grosvenor Grand Challenge Day 1 - At A Glance Post by: TightEnd on January 21, 2007, 01:15:01 AM Vik Kanwar is OUT
Pushes his last two thousand in from the cut off with Ariel Adda re-raises on the button to 6,000 to isolate with but Nick Persaud re-reraises in the BB to 15,000 with, as it turns out, Adda passes the flop gives Vik some hope but the river and turn blank with to knock him out Adda would have hit the house. Title: Re: Grosvenor Grand Challenge Day 1 - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on January 21, 2007, 01:17:30 AM Trevor Reardon is OUT, his last 3k went in on a Ac 2h Td board, Matey behind him pushed, and Mick McCool was forced to muck pocket Kings.
Trevor: Ad Jc Matey: Ahrt Qh Turn: Kh ! River: 7s. Title: Re: Grosvenor Grand Challenge Day 1 - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on January 21, 2007, 01:33:21 AM Ariel Adda just won a huge pot from Nik Persaud.
4.6k in preflop, Flop: Qd 6c 6s Ariel raises Nik's intial 1.8k bet to 4k which Nik calls. Turn: Ac Both check River: Jd Nik bets 8k which is insta-called by Ariel's Q-9 which is good as Nik quickly mucks. Title: Re: Grosvenor Grand Challenge Day 1 - At A Glance Post by: TightEnd on January 21, 2007, 01:34:11 AM Uh oh. Prepare yourselves
Driton Haxhiaj Scrabbleman pushes in mid position for his last 5,000. RookieITB re-raises all in in the SB, 12,000 Dennis O'Mahoney eventually lays down QQ in the BB for all his chips if he calls On their backs Scrabbleman RookieITB BOARD river..... Rookie down to 7,000 Keep fighting my son. That table, although tikay has now been moved off it now, has been a story of carnage avoidance with big laydowns and a carnage inducing series of outdraws all night Title: Re: Grosvenor Grand Challenge Day 1 - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on January 21, 2007, 01:43:39 AM Paul King is OUT, 3 spades came in on the flop and his opponent, Steve Jelinek checked to him, holding the Ks he pushed, unfortunately Jelinek had 2s 3s in his hand which held.
Title: Re: Grosvenor Grand Challenge Day 1 - At A Glance Post by: TightEnd on January 21, 2007, 01:47:44 AM RookieITB's rollercoaster ride continues
all in with AQ (raise pre-flop, push on flop) versus KQ on a J 10 7 flop with 14,000 in the middle the turn and river come 10 5 to put him back in the hunt Title: Re: Grosvenor Grand Challenge Day 1 - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on January 21, 2007, 02:10:24 AM Tikay has gone. Short stack Paul Child pushed with Aspades Ts, slightly shorter stack Tikay beat him in the pot with Qd Qh only to find Dave Smith calling both with Ks Kd.
Board: Tc Th 9c 7h 3c Child on about 17k now. Title: Re: Grosvenor Grand Challenge Day 1 - At A Glance Post by: TightEnd on January 21, 2007, 02:19:46 AM Damon D'Cruz has doubled up to nearly 30,000

Anthony had a tough decision, and eventually called for half his remaining stack Good call, as MB had (which was to be fair a decent move, as Anthony nearly passed) on the river sealed the deal for Anthony who rises to over 40,000 in chips Title: Re: Grosvenor Grand Challenge Day 1 - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on January 21, 2007, 02:45:14 AM Rookie steals a pot in a sb/bb showdown
Flop: 3d 4d 7s Both check. Turn: 2c Rooks bets 2k, call. River: Td Rooks bets 3.5k, BB dwells for ages before passing. What did Rookie have? Title: Re: Grosvenor Grand Challenge Day 1 - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on January 21, 2007, 02:55:25 AM Rookie steals a pot in a sb/bb showdown Flop: 3d 4d 7s Both check. Turn: 2c Rooks bets 2k, call. River: Td Rooks bets 3.5k, BB dwells for ages before passing. What did Rookie have? Ok, he didn't steal he had a set of 3's. There's just been another pot where a raise, was followed by a re-raise and Rookie pushed with A-K and the re-raiser folded Q-Q to him. Rookie over 30k, I think the fact that 11th to 18th all pay £1,000 has something to do with that push. Also, having spoken to JP, (who lost a race when matey had 44 against JP's AQ), Karl Marenholz (couldn't get a guy to fold 88 on a K-K-J-9-x board), Rooks and a couple of the other players, all of them would've liked to have seen running antes in the tournament, as would Tighty and myself, (just so I can use the puntastic running antes kicking in picture). After the successful structure of the Bolton GUKPT event, hopefully more big buy-in tournaments will introduce it. Title: Re: Grosvenor Grand Challenge Day 1 - At A Glance Post by: NoflopsHomer on January 21, 2007, 03:17:19 AM Nick Ripple11 Jenkins is OUT, not wanting to have to come back tomorrow with 10 BB's Nick pushed with KQ for 12k and found a surprising caller from the BB who called all-in with AT sooted. He flopped a Queen but a rivered Ace put him down to 1 BB which went all-in next hand in with Ad 3s in a 3-way pot with Irish Dennis's Ac Qc and Matey's Qs Qd.
Board: Jc 4d 9d Kd Qh Irish Dennis, who had made good decisions all-day went next hand with an Ace-rag to the same Matey's Q-Q again next hand. Rookieitb -- 23.4k Mick "Slick Kid" McCool -- 21.6k Play is now over for the night.
