Title: Cashing out at pokerstars Post by: chrisbruce on September 22, 2005, 10:46:11 PM Having not played poker stars for over a year I returned tonight for the HU tourny which I took very seriously and enjoyed a lot despite losing in the first round.
Undetered I deposited $600 (visa) to try the cash tables on my theory that you will win your 1st poker sesion on returning to a site you have not played for a while. After that its all down hill...... The good news is my $600 is now worth $4323.35 and I would like to cash out and never return. Stars says it is unable to return cash back to visa cards and I need another option to cash out. I do not have a Net teller account or Firepay or any other, but will open one if required. What is the best / easiest option for me ? Or should I just request a cheque? Has anyone ever got a cheque from pokerstars ? ( after the 48hr cooling period of course!) Title: Re: Cashing out at pokerstars Post by: chrisbruce on September 22, 2005, 10:58:42 PM $5 / $10 P L Omaha - my prefered game
Stuck it in when in front and stayed in front. a rareity for online Omaha. I dont play online anymore but returned to betfair last Friday for the Blue Sq qualifier. Failed to qualify but won 2.5K on $5 / $10 Omaha. only to give it back a few days later mostly to outdraws. I accept that is a large part of Omaha! but I stick to my theory! How do I open a net teller account? is there a website ? Chris Title: Re: Cashing out at pokerstars Post by: Ironside on September 22, 2005, 11:00:01 PM www.neteller.com
Title: Re: Cashing out at pokerstars Post by: Karabiner on September 22, 2005, 11:43:36 PM Why not ask pokerstars to send you a sterling cheque ?
You'll do some in the exchange otherwise. Having said that a neteller account is useful.....oh I forgot that you're not going to play online anymore. ~: Title: Re: Cashing out at pokerstars Post by: RED-DOG on September 22, 2005, 11:57:12 PM I cash out on stars to my visa debit card

Title: Re: Cashing out at pokerstars Post by: Malc-M on September 23, 2005, 04:11:10 AM A sterling cheque takes only about 4 days and is prob best- It'll take a couple of days to set up a Neteller account.

firstly you can sell the dollars to any friends who also play pokerstars, this is the easiest method as once you get the cash from your friend you just transfer the money to their pokerstars account. the whole deal takes about 5 minutes with pokerstars support, you have the reddies in your hand and you dont lose any money with the exchange rate or in commission. however failing that i regularly use neteller to cash out from pokerstars and have yet to encounter any problems with them, my cash out request from pokerstars is always in my neteller account within 48 hours and the exchange rate that they convert my pokerstars dollars into sterling (and their exchange rate is usually a lot better than you will get from most banks or exchange bureau) also they will only charge you £2 for every withdrawal you make - so if you are getting the job lot out in one go you will only be charged £2 for a £2400ish withdrawal. the cheque normally arrives thru my letterbox about 48 hours after making the withdrawal request. I always make my withdrawals from pokerstars on a monday evening and i always receive the cheque to bank on friday. However if you have never used neteller before you may find the process takes a day or so longer while they register your details. Title: Re: Cashing out at pokerstars Post by: Mark S. on September 23, 2005, 11:23:12 AM Depends how fast you need the cash?
NETELLER is the best way for several reasons. 1. Fast cash out from Stars (usually within 24-48 hours) 2. Can then draw cash out by transferring your money to a NETELLER debit card. All major ATM's are then available to use! 3. Can use your cash out to fund other on-line card rooms. PokerStars CAN cashout back to "UK" VISA cards. In one of our recent updates, we have just deployed new deposit / withdrawal methods for swtich/maestro and solo (literally in the last day or so), hence the confusion. Please try again ChrisBruce (or even better, leave some money in there!!!) and you will have no problems (assuming you are in the UK....) Title: Re: Cashing out at pokerstars Post by: owlsseven on September 23, 2005, 04:37:32 PM hi chris,,im fairly knew to online poker but have had the same prob as you regarding cashing in chips/winnings..i chose a cheque,my cheque for 1,050 u.s dollars arrived about a week later,i took it to my bank and they told me as it was a "FOREIGN" cheque it would take a little longer than normal (up to 6 weeks) to be passed for withdrawal and depending on the amount on the cheque they take a "HANDLING" fee and it can be fairly high as it has to go through "international banking" system ......
just thought i would warn you and any other player considering playing on similiar poker sites.....i now stick to my wm.hill...........coral or ladbrokes sites ................ good luck whatever way you go ....owlsseven (BRYAN) Title: Re: Cashing out at pokerstars Post by: byronkincaid on September 23, 2005, 04:54:24 PM you can get £sterling cheques from stars now. they have also just emailed me to say they will be doing switch in the next few days
Title: Re: Cashing out at pokerstars Post by: matt674 on September 23, 2005, 04:56:26 PM they have been doing sterling cheques for a while now but every time i used to look (and its been a while since i last looked as i use neteller so it may have changed in the meanwhile) the exchange rate they were offering was a poor one.
