I'll go for the easy (so undoubtably wrong) answer first and get it out of the way.

3, Bart, Lisa and Maggie.

How many children have Homer as their father, and what are their names?

I can only think of 4, so it must be a trick question. Bart, Hugo (evil twin) Lisa and Maggie.

Homer is Maggie's dad?

Does Matt Groening (sp?) count? He's still a child at heart.

Wasn't hugo in a haloween special though, where the stories don't really occur in simpson world? After many vodkas and  red bulls tho there is a good chance i am talking bs.

Homer on children:

Children Who Resemble Their Fathers

In Homer's Odyssey (1.206-216, tr. A.T. Murray and George E. Dimock), the goddess Athena disguised as Mentes talks with Odysseus' son Telemachus:

"But come, tell me this and declare it truly, whether indeed, tall as you are, you are the son of Odysseus himself. Wondrously like his are your head and beautiful eyes; for many were the times we consorted with one another before he embarked for the land of Troy, whither others, too, the bravest of the Argives, went in their hollow ships. But since that day neither have I seen Odysseus, nor he me."

Then wise Telemachus answered her: "Therefore, stranger, will I frankly tell you all. My mother says that I am his child; but I do not know this, for never yet did any man know his parentage of his own knowledge."
For most of human history, children did not know for certain the identities of their fathers. This ignorance may be one impulse behind those societies that defined their membership through the maternal line alone. It is only recently that blood and DNA tests have allowed children to know for sure who their fathers are (and vice versa).

Just thought I'd add a wee bit education.

Geo

Not sure if he's only been in one or two ( but yes, one was the halloween special) and as my mind is clouded after several large Rums & cokes...... I could be talking BS too lol.

3. Bart, Hugo and Lisa. Maggie is daughter of Khan. If Halloween apochryphal episodes are to be discounted for not being real, are the other episodes to be included for being real? Are the 3D ones the only factual ones and the cartoon ones unreliable for factual assumptions?
Marge is a whore on an intergalactic level.

Halloween Specials dont count, They are not included in the simpsons timeline and are never referred to, Hence the "special".

Now a real simpsons question would be, how many musical stars have indeed been a guest on the simpsons playing themselves?

Or

Troy McClure is based on which actor " easy".

Yes, but the Simpsons always prides itself on being "out of time" (or frozen in time), thus the children never age.

In which case it would make as much sense to include the Halloween specials as to not include them.

There have been repeteded reference to things that have happened in a real time enviromnment, for example when the kids go cloyjes shopping they state they have been dressed the same way for x many years,

Bart cad moved grade classes twice to my reccolections as has Lisa, Even the episod where Homer recalls why he has no photographs of maggie in the photo album shows a definitive timeline, The anti aging this is just part of the fiction, Time if definetly present in the Simpsons.

Yes, whilst there is a 'time freeze' aspect to it, there are sticky storylines - Apu getting married and having the octuplets, Maud Flanders carking it - not everything is reset at the end of each episode.
