Title: Florida
Post by: Colchester Kev on February 03, 2007, 07:13:52 AM
Yesterday at 11.15am, my son Sam left Gatwick for a 2 week holiday in Florida with my Sister, her husband and 2 kids and my Dad and his wife.

I have just seen the news ...... Tornado's and severe lightining strikes.

Trying to get a phone call through is a fkin nightmare.

They are in Kissimee in a villa, I still havent heard anything.

They wouldnt have got into Florida until late last night (our time) so Im hoping they will have missed it all.

It wasn't a hurricane (wrong time of year for hurricanes)

They will be fine Kev, things are made out to be far worse than they are, although people have lost their lives these things are quite isolated, i think only 10,000 homes are without power. If there is anything you should have faith in it's the response of Florida to natural disasters, it really is something to behold.

Hard not to say hurricane when talking about 'the sunshine state'
