Title: techie help please
Post by: Claw75 on February 04, 2007, 12:39:37 AM
I want to adjust the sensitivity of the mousepad on my laptop.  I did this a couple of weeks ago and it was pretty straightforward - right clicked on the appropriate icon on the bottom right of the screen and Bob's your uncle.  For some reason, the icon isn't showing up anymore, and I can't find any other way to get to the doodah (technical term) that will let me change the settings.  Anyone?

not on the laptop at the moment, but is there not an option in the control panel?

OK - when I click on the mouse icon in the control panel I'm getting  a message saying 'unable to connect to the synaptics pointing device driver'....could that be part of the problem?

Control panel>mouse>device settings highlight your device and click settings, all options are there

Make sure it is working properly.
control panel>system>hardware>device manager
Look at "mice and other pointing devices" check it's installed correctly or just update driver with windows generic.

I can't see a 'device settings' option  :dontask: Nothing in there is brining up the doodah I used before...

Turning it off and on again - always worth a go with any computer problem.

Yeah silly me assumed it was gone after a reboot.
