Title: any thoughts Post by: ACE2M on February 05, 2007, 05:26:53 AM as the live poker board isn't frequented by everyone i wanted to put this here, i think it's an interesting topic.
Why put the blinds back? Who benefits? http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=19860.new#new I chopped this 3 way but am really annoyed with myself for 2 bad decisions. I was CL going into the final table with 140k out of 400k and blinds at 3k/6k going to 4/8 shortly but the TD put the blinds back to 1k/2k, why on earth i didn't kick up a fuss having said before i think this is highly objectionable for the CL. It's also bad for the guy finishing 11th as he may well not have pushed had he known. The chop was 3 way with the chips standing 280k, 70k and 50k (me) and the blinds at 5k/10k. Stated prizes were 1800, 960 and 660, the deal ended with 1500, 1000 and 920. I think this is a terrible chop with me giving away just less than a 4/1 gamble when i wasn't a 4/1 dog to win it. Kudos to the guy who took 1st as he got the chips and played it perfectly, unfortunately the cards completely deserted me from 6 handed on. the comp lasted 11 hours and i was so tired at the end i sort of forgive myself for making such a stupid deal but you live and learn. Any thoughts appreciated.... And it was nice to see the nun and i assume Mr Nun (shame you didn't push the turn with that A10) at the tables. As for putting the blinds back to 1k 2k on the FT - I would of screamed Blue Murder If I was such a big C/L!!!!! Title: Re: any thoughts Post by: boldie on February 05, 2007, 12:17:16 PM The rolling back of the blinds, if not announced before the tourney, is something you just can't do. Especially such a big step...it's ridiculous and I would have objected.
The deal for someone with just a few chips at those blind levels is a decent one though. Title: Re: any thoughts Post by: ACE2M on February 05, 2007, 02:17:43 PM so the deal wasn't to bad. feel a bit better.
Title: Re: any thoughts Post by: portfolio on February 05, 2007, 05:03:23 PM rolling back the blinds is a fantastic idea, allowing the comp to be played out fully and not becoming a crapshoot.
not that rare in LIVE well run tourneys, and should be done more imho. the deal is not that bad once ur in 5bb territory either. given this info, i will make greater efforts to attend their next event. Exactly, as people would of played pre final table differently had they known |
