Title: Russel Brand on Radio2 Post by: tantrum on February 05, 2007, 01:21:16 PM I am so annoyed they have only 1 podcast. The show is the funniest thing on the radio at the moment....
Title: Re: Russel Brand on Radio2 Post by: boldie on February 05, 2007, 01:23:35 PM Shame he's a tosser and one of many a reason why I don't like paying my license fee.
Title: Re: Russel Brand on Radio2 Post by: ACE2M on February 05, 2007, 01:55:32 PM russell brands radio show is great.
Title: Re: Russel Brand on Radio2 Post by: Colchester Kev on February 05, 2007, 02:09:28 PM I see Russell Brand has had a road named after him ... how very apt.
Title: Re: Russel Brand on Radio2 Post by: Woodsey on February 05, 2007, 02:41:25 PM And there was me thinking I'm the only person who thinks he's rubbish
Title: Re: Russel Brand on Radio2 Post by: boldie on February 05, 2007, 02:46:26 PM And there was me thinking I'm the only person who thinks he's rubbish he's an overhyped little shit in myhumble opinion..Not very funny and I don't really get why this horse faced baboon is found attractive by women...must be the Big Brother watching on a council estate living buckfast drinking Tracies who that. Title: Re: Russel Brand on Radio2 Post by: AndrewT on February 05, 2007, 03:17:14 PM Russell is actually very funny if he doesn't go overboard on the character he has developed. He has a quick wit and a good turn of phrase but too often allows himself to believe his hype.
His stand-up at the recent Amnesty show was very funny, but I tired of his radio show on 6Music and I would assume the Radio2 one is much the same. Actually, there are a lot of similarities to Chris Evans. Chris was fantastic back when he was on GLR and when he started on Radio 1 as no one had really heard of him and he didn't have the ego or the circle of sycophants surrounding him. Russell is the same - he sees himself in every magazine and is surrounded by people saying 'you're the sexiest, funniest man in Britain' and so disappears up his own arsehole. Title: Re: Russel Brand on Radio2 Post by: ifm on February 05, 2007, 03:27:28 PM Dunno how you can compare him to Chris Evans!!!!!
Title: Re: Russel Brand on Radio2 Post by: AndrewT on February 05, 2007, 03:35:23 PM Dunno how you can compare him to Chris Evans!!!!! People with radio shows who can be funny but get too far up themselves when they believe their own hype. Title: Re: Russel Brand on Radio2 Post by: ifm on February 05, 2007, 03:37:28 PM Chris Evans was fantastic on radio 1, his problem was that as he was fabulously wealthy he found it difficult to get out of bed.
Title: Re: Russel Brand on Radio2 Post by: Colchester Kev on February 05, 2007, 03:39:03 PM Chris Evans was fantastic on radio 1, his problem was that as he was fabulously wealthy he found it difficult to get out of bed. I have the same problem. Only i'm skint :D Title: Re: Russel Brand on Radio2 Post by: TightEnd on February 05, 2007, 03:45:58 PM Chris Evans was fantastic on radio 1, his problem was that as he was fabulously wealthy he found it difficult to get out of bed. to be fair he had the perfectly acceptable excuse to stay in bed that is Piper. as soon as they broke up, he was back to wrok. Seems reasonable to me Title: Re: Russel Brand on Radio2 Post by: Chili on February 05, 2007, 04:00:10 PM Personally I think Russell Brand is the funniest, wittiest and amazingly cleverist bloke to grace our tv and radio waves in a long while. I am saying this purly on content of his brain and not his trousers. I actualy don't find him physically attractive but find his interests the same as mine.
Each to their own opinion but people that don't like him::: >:? >:? >:? >:? >:? >:? >:? >:? Title: Re: Russel Brand on Radio2 Post by: TightEnd on February 05, 2007, 04:03:43 PM but find his interests the same as mine. heroin and big brother? Title: Re: Russel Brand on Radio2 Post by: boldie on February 05, 2007, 04:04:57 PM the "bit" he did for Amnesty simply wasn't funny. He took a newspaper..read out the letters readers had sent in and made fun of them...Most of the jokes he did weren't funny and it definetly wasn't a new idea. I just don't get why he's popular and definetly don't get why the BBC needs to buy up over hyped CH4 "stars" with license payers money. Title: Re: Russel Brand on Radio2 Post by: Chili on February 05, 2007, 04:06:43 PM but find his interests the same as mine. heroin and big brother? Was thinking more of Oscar Wilde, THe Smiths and overcoming shit from past (not heroin!) Nice try though tighty! Title: Re: Russel Brand on Radio2 Post by: Chili on February 05, 2007, 04:10:14 PM Boldie, people find humour in very different ways. Granted not every single word that comes out of his mouth is hilarious and YES even sometimes he gets over excited and acts like a baboon but I do find him refreshing.
Reckon there MAY be a time when he might grate on the senses, but it hasn't happened yet a year in. Title: Re: Russel Brand on Radio2 Post by: ACE2M on February 05, 2007, 04:23:15 PM he's different and i may well tire of him eventually. But at the moment i really like his show.
Do you like Moyles? Title: Re: Russel Brand on Radio2 Post by: tantrum on February 05, 2007, 04:24:29 PM His BBC2 show is funny. Nothing more nothing else.

Title: Re: Russel Brand on Radio2 Post by: booder on February 05, 2007, 04:33:02 PM russel brand ... annoying, loud bloke off the telly with hair that looks like something shat in it and rubbed it in.
just about sums him up i think. Title: Re: Russel Brand on Radio2 Post by: KingPoker on February 05, 2007, 04:33:22 PM I think its safe to say he's a marmite man!
Moyles is a legend! Mighty boosh is the worst programme ever been given the go ahead to be aired on British Television. Have met them in real life and they really are a couple of weirdos!!! Title: Re: Russel Brand on Radio2 Post by: ACE2M on February 05, 2007, 04:34:35 PM i love the boosh. i hate moyles btw, if we are talking talentless, he's top of the list.
Title: Re: Russel Brand on Radio2 Post by: KingPoker on February 05, 2007, 04:36:00 PM sigh! this post could go on forever so i vow to leave it and never ever come back.............probably!

I agree..Moyles is just annoying...My GF even bought his book and listens to him every morning :( I have been telling her for ages that Phil Jupitus is MUCH funnier Title: Re: Russel Brand on Radio2 Post by: Claw75 on February 05, 2007, 04:51:28 PM I don't 'get' some of his humour, but for the most part I think he's really funny. And yes, I fancy him too :)

Both Moyle and Jupitus have similar basic sence of humour....sry too simple and slow for me. Title: Re: Russel Brand on Radio2 Post by: Colchester Kev on February 05, 2007, 05:27:59 PM top 3 who make you laugh ... doesnt matter if they are dead or alive .
Title: Re: Russel Brand on Radio2 Post by: KingPoker on February 05, 2007, 05:29:52 PM If im up that early i always listen to moyles, because he doesnt come on all full of energy and fake. If he's grumpy you can tell and its not just the fact that he's funny, he is just real- doesnt try to put an act on.
Thats the trouble with stand up comics of coz of course their stand up is a 'act'! They are not like that in real life at all. Lee evans being a prime example of this. I do like radio 2 but the trouble is especally with the bint thats on before wogan and also wogan, all they bloody do is read out shitty letters from old grannies and f****** useless poems!!!!! Makes you wanna rip of your ears and eat them! Moyles is the best DJ on radio, very sharp and very funny. Title: Re: Russel Brand on Radio2 Post by: KingPoker on February 05, 2007, 05:32:20 PM 1) Lee Evans
2) Peter Griffin (off family guy) 3) Jeremy Clarkson (i know this will be a controversial one!) Moyles is the best DJ on radio, very sharp and very funny. I did not use 'slow' as not intelligent tbh. It's just when I listen to Moyle is like repeating the same record over and over. Not a big deal and no need to get winded up. Don't get too upset and don't treat my opinion as a personal attack on you. For you he is the best, for me not. If all of us liked the same thing the life would be very boring indeed. Someone who wants their voice all over the telly and radio every day is going to do a bit of hit and miss. I like him, the missus doesn't. His anti-tabloid stuff is good. It gets harder and harder to defend fim, when every day on BigMouth he talks about pulling down his trousers and pants and w***ing his dinkle off. He doesn't need that kind fo crassness, should have drawn the line with his bawbags IMHO.
