Title: Re: TONIGHT.....WILL HILL GRAND PRIX HEAT 2 Post by: bobby1 on February 06, 2007, 04:09:04 PM A lovely mix of established and up and coming pro's with two qualifiers. Rintala has actually qualified online for both Grand Prix's.

Title: Re: TONIGHT.....WILL HILL GRAND PRIX HEAT 2 Post by: bobby1 on February 07, 2007, 12:10:15 AM Mr Lodden, Mighty impressive It was a great performance wassnt it. What did you think of the q 10 call Dewi? Title: Re: TONIGHT.....WILL HILL GRAND PRIX HEAT 2 Post by: Dewi_cool on February 07, 2007, 12:13:10 AM I think he was probably thinking that he had to gamble to get back in at that stage, however the laydown with the 5 when Mr Boatman hit trip 6 was awesome.
He just seemed to know where he stood all along Title: Re: TONIGHT.....WILL HILL GRAND PRIX HEAT 2 Post by: bobby1 on February 07, 2007, 12:15:09 AM I think he was probably thinking that he had to gamble to get back in at that stage, however the laydown with the 5 when Mr Boatman hit trip 6 was awesome. He just seemed to know where he stood all along I think it was a big call but you are right, they guy was class. Ross played some lovely stuff too and was prob a bit unlucky to run into Lodden in that form. Title: Re: TONIGHT.....WILL HILL GRAND PRIX HEAT 2 Post by: Dewi_cool on February 07, 2007, 12:18:15 AM This guy will go far, I felt he was on a different level, only 21, one hell of a life in front of him.
Title: Re: TONIGHT.....WILL HILL GRAND PRIX HEAT 2 Post by: JP on February 07, 2007, 03:27:57 AM I watched this heat in the green room in cardiff and was mighty impressed with Johnny as I was a few weeks previously when i played him in barcelona. Some of the hands I missed though were very good to watch and he seemed to be involved in everything and was running the table after he doubled with the A7.
The QT hand to me was very obvious at the time as I could just see what was going to happen when Pham didn't reraise preflop. The call is quite easy imo as they were itching to play back at him, only hand he can be worried about in reality is KT. Barney Boatman said he didn't put her on a small pair well in fact he did reckoned she had 6's, 7's or 8's. Both heats have been won by the player who has played the best so far which is always good to see bring on next tuesday. Title: Re: TONIGHT.....WILL HILL GRAND PRIX HEAT 2 Post by: NoflopsHomer on February 07, 2007, 03:34:37 AM A televised tournament with deep stacks HU is always good. Lodden's pass with the 7-5 was I think easier than was made out, even if he assumed Ross was on a draw he was probably confident enough to pass knowing he could find a better spot.
Title: Re: TONIGHT.....WILL HILL GRAND PRIX HEAT 2 Post by: Longy on February 07, 2007, 07:30:30 AM I was impressed by Jonny Lodden as well, i don't think any of his plays were spectacular but he just never made a mistake, which is quite hard when you involved in every pot against top player. You can see why he has made a fortune on the internet.
Title: Re: TONIGHT.....WILL HILL GRAND PRIX HEAT 2 Post by: dan on February 07, 2007, 08:45:45 AM I thought Lodden played superbly. Like floppy said the 75 laydown was easy to laydown he was only beating a bluff he was even mathematically behind i draw with overs. i thought the laydown against Colclough when he made the flush and DC had 8 full was better. Alot of players make a crying call there.
I also think the Q10 was a great call, I'm not sure if badgirl pushes all in if she had hit trip 5s on the flop, Lodden could of just been making a continuation bet after all. Title: Re: TONIGHT.....WILL HILL GRAND PRIX HEAT 2 Post by: Nem on February 07, 2007, 11:47:16 AM A televised tournament with deep stacks HU is always good. Ross was getting owned, and in JL eyes , it was only a matter of time. Title: Re: TONIGHT.....WILL HILL GRAND PRIX HEAT 2 Post by: The Camel on February 07, 2007, 02:13:22 PM I thought Lodden's fold of his flush against Blondie's full house was the best play. For one raise? That was incredible
The 75 was a pretty easy fold IMO. He would have been underdog against an open ended straight draw with overcards, or Ross could easily have a 7 with a bigger kicker. Title: Re: TONIGHT.....WILL HILL GRAND PRIX HEAT 2 Post by: KingPoker on February 07, 2007, 02:18:18 PM I personally really didnt like boatmans fold with the J 10s. With that re raise he was left wth less than half his chips and in my my mind was valued in to the race!

Great show to watch, last night....Lodden played very well. Title: Re: TONIGHT.....WILL HILL GRAND PRIX HEAT 2 Post by: Acidmouse on February 07, 2007, 08:40:06 PM Very high standard, enjoying how they showed laying down a hand can be just as good as winning a big pot.
Title: Re: TONIGHT.....WILL HILL GRAND PRIX HEAT 2 Post by: ThinkerJE on February 07, 2007, 10:03:40 PM This is what poker on TV should be like. Fantastic structure, Johnny Lodden was awesome fighting back from the short stack to dominate Ross heads up. The J8 flush laydown was simply the best play I have seen in a long time on TV. Can't wait till next week.
Title: Re: TONIGHT.....WILL HILL GRAND PRIX HEAT 2 Post by: elblondie on February 08, 2007, 12:36:05 PM Quite simply....the best player won.
The flush was a great fold. he also showed considerable retraint not to follow through with abet on the turn. I was shocked. He is not a typical Scandie machine gunener thats for certain. A great performance by Mr.Lodden :respect: Title: Re: TONIGHT.....WILL HILL GRAND PRIX HEAT 2 Post by: Micko on February 08, 2007, 12:53:37 PM Wonder what sort of reception lennard got all the rumours about his cheatin were apparently true.
Title: Re: TONIGHT.....WILL HILL GRAND PRIX HEAT 2 Post by: bolt pp on February 10, 2007, 11:15:38 PM Is Lodden TLK on FullTilt?
My only criticism of this program is the commentators, Not the pedigree of the commentators(unquestionable) but that, with such a great structure we're not allowed to hear the verbal that happens at the table. You've got the fish and Gouga on the same table in week one and you cant hear any of the banter! I think even the most ignorant poker player can follow the action without having to be walked through every hand. Was it the MonteCarlo millions invitational where they broadcast the game live and the commentators only interjected intermittently allowing the viewer to listen to the likes of Matasouw, Hanson and Hellmuth go at it for a couple of hours? that was blinding, i dont see why more cant follow suit. |
