P Child is the first

Iwan Jones had A-Q down the other end of the table and spiked a Queen on the Turn of a 9-7-5-Q-3 board.

--------------

On the same table...

All-in on the Turn with the board showing 4s 3s Qs 4h, P Green's Pocket Kings were no match for Chris's flopped flush, Aspades 2s. Double up for Gavriel.

Post by: NoflopsHomer on February 11, 2007, 02:27:05 PM
S Javadi takes a chunky pot off Ash Hussain, he checked-called her 5k bets on the flop and turn of a Ac Qs 5h Jd 8h board but folded to her 15k bet on the river.

-----------------

Matt Tyler is OUT.

Got himself in a sticky position with not too many outs in the pack.

All-in on a board of Td Jd Aspades Qd, Matt's Kd Kc was looking rather vulnerable against Mick McCool's Ad 3d.

Title: Re: Broadway Festival: Day 2 - At A Glance
Post by: snoopy1239 on February 11, 2007, 02:29:45 PM
Board  = Qh Jc 8c Js

Greek Jack checks, S Javadi bets 16k, Jack moves in for 13.5k more and Javadi makes the expected call.

Jack turns over Pocket Eights, but it's not over just yet because Javadi has A-J.

No Ace on the River and Jack doubles through.

Big sigh of relief at the end too, so he's clearly feeling the tension.

A dark horse to win perhaps?

Martyn Cavanagh knocked out a shorty with A-A against A-Q, sadly shorty dashed off sharpish before we could identify him.

Rob Garfield is OUT, he pushed with Kd 8h on a Kc Qd Td board, but S Somaratine had limped utg with Ac Js and flopped the nuts.

N Judah check/raises all-in against Greek Jack's 6k bet on a 6s 9s 7h Qh, Jack dwelt for so long the clock was called but eventually passed.

----------

N Blatchley is OUT

Harpit Gurnham was all-in and called by N Judah and Adam Stoneham who proceeded to check down the 3c Kh Jc 4s Qh board since both couldn't re-raise the other out of the pot preflop due to the under-raise all-in.

Harpit:

In a multiway limped pot, Adam Stoneman bets 4k on the 9h 9d 4d flop and only C Judah calls, Adam bets 9k on the 7h turn and Judah moves all-in for 20k more. Adam dwells for a while before passing.

We are now on a short break and the blinds will be 600/1200 when we return.

Title: Re: Broadway Festival: Day 2 - At A Glance
Post by: NoflopsHomer on February 11, 2007, 04:05:42 PM
John Shipley makes it 3k in MP, Henning Grandstad calls from the Cut-off and that brings both the blinds in.

Flop:

Js 3h 4h

Both blinds check, John Shipley bets 4.5k, Henning calls, the blinds both fold.

Turn:

9s

Shipley checks, Henning pushes all-in, Shipley calls immediately.

Henning:

Jc Tc

Shipley:

Ac Ahrt

River:

7s

Henning Grandstad is therefore OUT.

Title: Re: Broadway Festival: Day 2 - At A Glance
Post by: snoopy1239 on February 11, 2007, 04:12:51 PM
Big big big big big fold from Chris Gavriel.

Board reads 2s 3d Qs 6h

Chris bets 9k, Tim makes it 20k and Chris calls.

River = 6s

Tim Blake moves all-in for around 50k (Although Chris only has around 45k).

Chris (pictured below) thinks and thinks for absolute age before eventually (and I mean eventually because Mick McCool had already called for the clock) folding.

Chris reveals Pocket Twos for a full house, whilst I later learn that Tim had 9s 8s for the Rivered flush.

Title: Re: Broadway Festival: Day 2 - At A Glance
Post by: snoopy1239 on February 11, 2007, 04:17:32 PM
Iwan Jones is OUT.

A-7 vs 4-4, Flop = 8-9-T but no futher help received.

-------------

Adam Stoneman has also bitten the dust.

-------------

Simon Zach has taken a huge pot off John Shipley with A-K vs J-J on a 6-A-K-4-8 board and is now nearing the 150k mark. Shipley, meanwhile, is down to 17.5k.

Title: Re: Broadway Festival: Day 2 - At A Glance
Post by: NoflopsHomer on February 11, 2007, 04:33:41 PM
A Mackay is gone, somehow managed to get around 90k all-in preflop with Ac Kh against Henning Bolstad's Ahrt As.

Guilty of overplaying the A-K there I think.

Bolstad first to make the 200k mark.

Title: Re: Broadway Festival: Day 2 - At A Glance
Post by: NoflopsHomer on February 11, 2007, 04:53:47 PM
Henning Bolstad uses his vast resources to check/raise all-in against Ash Hussain after the latter makes a 10k bet but is forced to fold with a Qh Jd 2c 9s board showing.

Henning shows the 9h.

Raised pot between Praz and Tim Blake.

Praz bet 5.5k on a 6h 5d 2s board, Tim makes it 14k and Praz dwells before passing.

Ash Hussain just doubled up with Tc 5s against Shaf's Ahrt Jd, he hit a Ten on the turn.

Title: Re: Broadway Festival: Day 2 - At A Glance
Post by: NoflopsHomer on February 11, 2007, 05:41:19 PM
Mick McCool has doubled up with Qs Qd against Ac Th

----------

Meanwhile, Greek Jack is OUT, running A-K into Pocket Cowboys.

---------

Mohammed Shaffiq has doubled up against John Shipley with Kd Jd vs Aspades Qs, all-in pre-flop.

Shaf was in the small blind with John in the big, and with the flop coming 3h Kc 3s spiking a pair for Shaf, it was looking pretty good for the Northerner until the Turn brought a rather dangerous 4s. But there was no need to fret as the River brought the 3d.

Title: Re: Broadway Festival: Day 2 - At A Glance
Post by: NoflopsHomer on February 11, 2007, 05:47:45 PM
D Hickman pushes all-in against Chris Gavriel's raise. Gavriel calls.

Gavriel:

Jh Jc

Hickman:

Ad Kc

Board:

2h 4h 5h 8c Ahrt

Gavriel thought he had lost til Hickman pointed out the flush. Hickman is therefore OUT.

Ash Hussain, who had doubled up, was still short, pushes from the button on the other table with Kh 8h, he's called by the big blind's pocket Nines.

Board:

5c 7s 3d Kc Ts

Another double up for Ash.

Last hand before a 10 minute break David Lloyd pushes his short stack in and is called by Tim 'T88ML' Blake.

Lloyd:

Blake:

Board:

Timely double up for Dave, though Tim only lost about 4 or 5k there.

Blinds are now 1k/2k, 20 players left with the average stack being 66.4k.

I say 20 players because John Shipley is now out, he had the classic coinflip with A-K against Simon Zach's Q-Q, and nothing came on the flop, turn, or indeed, river.

And we finally have an exit, this time Adam Wilkinson. Cockney David Lloyd had raised to 6,500 pre-flop from earlyish position, only for Adam to move in from the small blind for another 25-30k. e quickly decided to chuck in his remaining column and reveal his A-K, which was well ahead of Adam's paltry A-J. King on the flop was empahtic and we've lost the man who won the opening event of this festival.

Your top 5 chip leaders (to the nearest 5k):

Henning Bolstad -- 320,000
Chris Gavriel -- 130,000
Simon Zach -- 120,000
P Pihlajama -- 115,000
S Javari -- 105,000

If there's a level that's one above 'card rack' that is what Henning Bolstad is today, he raises from UTG +1, everyone passes, he shows Jacks, he raises next hand from UTG, this time Alan McLean pushes, Henning calls.

George Geary doubled up through S Javadi.

Most of it went in on the flop, I think Javadi got caught nicking.

Geary:

Javadi:

Just watched Markus the scandiekid who is very Agreeeesive raise to 8k, P Green made it 20k commiting himself and Trevor Reardon seemed to dwell for a minute as though he had Queens or Jacks and had a difficult decision. Actually he was holding  Aspades Ahrt and was merely trying to get Markus to call him when he pushed by trying to feign weakness. P Green was holding Ad 8h and the 7s 2c 5d Kh 6c board sent him home and Trevor added another 40k or so to his stack.

Henning and Simon Zach see a flop together.

Flop:

Turn:

River:

Simon bets 18k, Henning makes it 43k, Simon makes about 90k. Henning passes the Ad face up.

Simon shows 5d 5h and is on 200k or so now.

C Judah is OUT, moved all-in for 28k with Ah 7d but ran into the Jd Jc of Praz which held up on the 7s Td 8h 4d Kd board.

Title: Re: Broadway Festival: Day 2 - At A Glance
Post by: NoflopsHomer on February 11, 2007, 08:43:40 PM
Tim Blake pushes for 48k from the button with the blinds 2k/4k. Chris Gaveriel made a speculative call from the big blind with Kc Th and was in a race vs Tim Blake's 3d 3c

Board:

6s 5d Kh 6h 4d

-----------------

Table Bolstad:

Henning Bolstad -- 254,500
Santhe Somaratine -- 54,500
Simon Zach -- 149,000
Mohammed Shaffiq -- 83,500
George Geary -- 77,000
Chris Parkes -- 54,500
Jim Kerrigan -- 24,500

-----------------

And just as I complete that chip count, we lose Jim Kerrigan from the table. Moving all-in pre-flop for 25k, the 'Hit Squad' member runs into the A-K of Santhe.

Jim Flops a 9, but receives a final poke from the Poker Gods as thr board comes 6-T-9-J-Q, much to the relief of local boy Santhe who exhales a deep breath of air.

Despite the bubble bursting, the shorter stacks haven't gone crazy yet and everyone is still pretty tight. I just did a 20 minute stint up top and every hand was raise followed by more passing than a bad Mastermind contestant. Blinds are 4k/8k for the next 20 minutes and then we go to 5k/10k which is when people start to feel the pinch....

Praz raises to 22k, Chris Gavriel moves all-in for 22.5k more, Praz forced to call.

Gavriel:

Kc Kh

Praz:

Jd 6c

Board:

Ts Aspades 9d Qc 5c

Gavriel back over 90k.

Lots more passing though Simon Zach seems to be ahead in the 'Steal the Blinds' game, I think the tight table has even affected Markus and Henning who haven't been raising much either. Finally last hand before the blinds went to 5k/10k S Javadi pushed here last 32k, Shaf, as CL, felt compelled to call with his half-wilson 7h 4h. Javadi was holding Js Jd though.

Board:

9s 5d 5h Ahrt Tc

Still ten players.

George Geary moves all-in utg for 47k.

Henning Bolstad calls.

David Lloyd dwells for a bit and passes.

On their backs:

Geary:

Th Tc

Bolstad:

Ahrt Qc

Board:

Ks 8s 5d 6h 9c

Geary back above 100k, still 10 players. David Lloyd passed Sevens.

Chris Gavriel raises to 40k in EP, Henning Bolstad re-raises him all-in and Chris Gavriel decides to go for it.

Henning Bolstad:

Ahrt Kh

Chris Gavriel:

Kd Qd

Board:

3s 5d 2s 5d 7s

Meaning Chris Gavriel is OUT in 10th winning £1,860

Sorry Camel, the first 5d should actually be 6d.

Anyway more action now, Shaf raises to 30k and S Javadi virtually calls all-in (she had about 3-4 BB's)

On their backs:

Javadi:

Qh Tc

Shaf:

Ad Th

Board:

Aspades 5c 9c 9h Kc

So S Javadi is OUT in 9th winning £2,790

Approx chip counts:

(1) David Lloyd -- 65k
(3) Trevor Reardon -- 75k
(4) P Pihlajamaa -- 85k
(5) George Geary -- 60k
(6) Mohammed Shaffiq -- 405k
(7) Simon Zach -- 160k
(8)l Henning Bolstad -- 225k
(9) Praz Bansi -- 210k

Simon Zach must have just folded a previous hand to a reraise because I saw him move all-in from the button for 129k and was called by Praz in the big blind.

Simon:

Qh Jh

Praz:

7d 7c

Board:

Td Ac Qs Ad 8c

Simon has got over 250k now. Praz really short with about 60k.

-------------------

And shortly after, Trevor Reardon doubled up to 120k, 9-9 vs Shaf's A-Qs, 5-2-5-2-J board.

Dave Lloyd pushes all-in from late position for 62k. Shaf decides to take a shot from the big blind.

Dave:

Kc Jc

"Oh, anything but that!" exclaims Shaf.

Shaf:

Jh 5h

Board:

2s Qd 3h 8c 7d

Dave up to 134k.

P Pihlajamaa is OUT and becomes the 8th place finisher winning £3,720

Pretty shortstacked, Pihlajamaa made his move with Threes, but ran into the Pocket Aces of fellow Scandie Bolstad.

Q-9-6-K-5 Board was no help.

George Geary is OUT in 7th place winning £4,650

Having dwindled to a tiny stack he pushed  his last 15k in from the cut-off and was called by Simon Zach, Henning Bolstad and Praz Bansi. The three then checked the 2s Kd Th 7d 3d board which was won by a mile by Simon's Ad Qd. Never got to see George's cards.

Over to Snoopy

David Lloyd is OUT and becomes the 6th place finisher winning £5,580

With the blinds at 8/16k, Simon Zach went 16 with 16 and David Lloyd called from the big blind.

Flop = Qs 5d 4c

All the chips flew in.

Lloyd = Ks Qc

Zach = 4d 4h

Turn = 4s

River = 8s

"So, just the quads then?" commented Lloyd. "I hit my card, had to push. Should have re-raised pre-flop"

Wow, it's carnage now.

Trevor Reardon is OUT and is our 5th place finisher winning £6,975

He made a stand with Jd Jc but Simon Zach called with Ac Ks

Board:

Kd 2d 3c 3d 3s

Simon has since been telling Praz that he virtually called all-in with the Qh Jh because he wanted to "play for the top 3 spots and nothing else."

------------------

Simon Zach -- 620k
Mohammed Shaffiq -- 330k
Praz Bansi -- 275k
Henning Bolstad -- 160k

I love poker, sometimes it's so surprising, after we grinded for what seemed like 5 or 6 hours with only 1 person going out, it's all sprung into life.

Henning Bolstad is our 4th place finisher winning £9,300

And it was one of those 'one up the bum' jobbies.

He pushed from the small blind with Ad 5h and Praz asked how much but then said, "Call."

Praz showed Aspades 5s. You know what's coming don't you...

Flop:

8s Qs Tc 7s Kd

Ouch!

Mohammed Shaffiq is OUT and becomes the 3rd place finisher winning £11,625

Shaf made it 70k from the button, Praz moved all-in and Shaf called.

Q-Jo vs 7-7

Board = 6-9-7-A-Q

Heads up now between Zach and Pransi.

1st is roughly £32k while 2nd is about £13k

A few hands now,

First on a Kd Tc 7s 2s board Praz bets 16k and is check/raised by Simon to 75k, both check the 7c river where Simon's Kc 5s is good.

Praz raises and takes the blinds.

Simon folds the small blind.

Praz folds the small blind.

Simon raises and takes the blinds.

Praz makes up the blinds and we see a Kh 3h 9s flop. Simon check/calls Praz' 20k bet. They both check the 6h turn. Simon checks the Ahrt river and Praz bets 50k. Simon moves all-in and Praz folds.

Finally Simon makes up and Praz checks, they check down a Ac Jh 4s Qc board until the Aspades river where Praz bets 50k and Simon quickly calls, Praz has Qd 5h, Simon has Qs 9h. Chop that one.

Title: Re: Broadway Festival: Day 2 - At A Glance

Praz raises to 60k and Simon calls, but the latter check/folds to Praz' 50k bet on the Th Td 8h flop.

Next hand Simon raises to 55k, Praz makes it 150k and Simon moves all-in, Praz thinks for AGES and Simon says, "You're behind, you've thought this long, you've still got 380 odd..." Praz passes after Simon calls the clock.

Rough chips counts:

Praz -- 400k
Simon -- 1mil

-----------------

soon after...

After dropping a few chips, Praz has virtually doubled back up.

Praz raised pre-flop and Simon called.

Flop = 2d Kc 4h

Praz bet 75k, Simon called.

Turn = 3h

Check, check.

River = 7h

Praz (first to go) bets 140k (leaving himself just 100k behind) and Simon calls.

Praz takes the pot with Kd 9h.

Back to even stevens.

I was watching a couple of mundane, raise/pass hands then in an unraised pot the players saw this flop:

8s 5d 7s

Simon checks, Praz bets 20k, Simon min-raises to 40k. Praz moves in, Simon calls instantly.

Praz:

9s 4s

Wow huge drawing hand, except...

Simon:

9d 6s

Turn:

8d

River:

2s

So Praz has doubled up and Simon is on the respirator.

Simon pushes and Praz calls with Ahrt Kh, Simon shows the slightly more mundane 6s Td.

Board:

8s Jd 3c Js 6d

Simon doubles up.

PRAZ BANSI IS THE BROADWAY FESTIVAL OF POKER CHAMPION WINNING £32,550

Simon Zach is OUT and becomes the 2nd place finisher winning £13,900

Simon limped, Praz bet around 80k, Simon moved all-in instantly and Praz made the obligatory call.

Praz = Ac 3c

Simon = Ks 5c

Board = Jc Aspades 2h 4h 7h
