Title: Now what do I do? Post by: Canuck on February 12, 2007, 11:40:10 AM .50 - $1 cash game I am sitting with $60, villain is on $50
New table, it is 3 handed. I am on the button with 4h 5h and I raise to $3. The SB calls The flop comes 3h 6h Kd giving me an open ended straight flush draw. He checks, I bet out $4. He calls. Turn is Tc He checks. Should I bet here or take a free card? If I bet, how much? Title: Re: Now what do I do? Post by: boldie on February 12, 2007, 11:56:03 AM I see people play JJ or QQ a lot three handed like he does. He won't fold unless you stick a decent sized bet in however if you do he could very well stick you all in. (he could ofcourse be playing AA poorly or be on a Flush draw himself)
I keep betting as to not give away that I'm drawing and convince him I have the King so that even if I miss the river I can still take the pot. And if he is on a FD to get him to fold. There's about 15$ ion the pot...12$ sounds about right to me. Title: Re: Now what do I do? Title: Re: Now what do I do? Post by: Smart Money on February 12, 2007, 03:34:14 PM I would definitely be betting again here. As boldie says, $12 into the $15 pot is about right.

I bet again as you said, 12 into the 15 and he called, the river was another K. He checked again, I set him in. He instacalled with JJ. In hindsight I should have slowed down with the 2nd King Title: Re: Now what do I do? Post by: boldie on February 13, 2007, 09:05:11 AM I see people play JJ or QQ a lot three handed like he does. In hindsight I should have slowed down with the 2nd King Ah unlucky that the second king hit. Players like that simply won't take you for a king once that second one comes down. If it hadn't and you have stuck him all in he would have been more likely to fold. Title: Re: Now what do I do? Post by: M3boy on February 13, 2007, 01:09:30 PM Trouble with playing short stacks.
Maybe he lays it down if the 2nd king does not come on the river, but thats doubtfull as well with so much in the pot compared to stack sizes. I have also found that People seem more willing to "gamble" that they have the best hand when playing $ games as opposed to £ games |
