Nice shout!..You get the sunrise and everything when you take that one. Nothing like seeing the sunrise from a nice train with a nice cuppa coffee. The day can't start any better then that.

Tomorrow, I get to use the Stansted Exopress, which will complete the set - Stansted Express, Gatwick Exprsess  Heathrow Express. Obviously, the Heathrow Eprsess is far & away the best - operates on purpose-built lines, on the GWR, & runs into the cathedral that is Paddington - it don't get better than that.

Interestingly, this (the London Underground "Roundel", as it's known) first appeared no less than 94 years ago - 1913!

And it remains as user-friendly today as ever, a Design masterpiece, like the Sony Walkman.

Today i got a return to Deptford, The train smelt of urine and i nearly had a ruck.

I wish i'd got a cab, TRAINS SUCK!!!!!!!

I would love to go on the Orient Express at some point in the future.  Some of the train journeys shown in Palin's travel shows look amazing as well, it must be the best way to see places like Russia and the Far East.  Perhaps after my WSOP win in a few years time  :) .

Twice a week. I get the Waterloo-Feltham stopper when going to Sky at Feltham, & often jump off at Clapham Junction just to soak up the atmo for an hour or so. Magic moments, not to be missed.

I noticed TK you seemed to go around and ignore my previous post on this thread on the subject of who invented and produced the first steam engine and he certainly wasnt ENGLISH!!!!!

Steam Locos are no good without a Railway on which to run. Think Brunel.

Germany was first to invent the structure which a train runs on but here's something that might cheer you up. I believe you are from this neck of the woods:-

When HM the Queen - Princess Margaret as she was then - "christened" a GWR Locomotive at Swindon Works in 1952, (Princess Margarret was the name, by coincidence...) she went up on the footplate & acted as the driver. My Dad was the fireman, & when the signal went "off" he had to say the traditional Fireman's words "right away Mate". Not too many get to call her mate"....!

Another misread from Tikay...............since when was Princess Margaret coronated.............never to the best of my knowledge

Having tried goose, I wouldn't mind trying a roast swan.... If only that German woman wasn't so greedy keeping them for herself....

Also, scholars at Christchurch College in Oxford are allowed to eat swan once a year, I think because the queen owns them too.

Maybe she eats the scholars afterwards.
