Arsenal v Man City game postponed
Arsenal's Premiership match against Manchester City on 28 February has been postponed because of unforeseen maintenance work.

The work needs to be carried out at Tube station Arsenal, which will be closed from 18 February until 2 March.

A new date for this fixture is expected to be announced next week.

Arsenal are facing a fixture pile-up with the side still going strong in the Champions League and FA Cup along with Carling Cup final date with Chelsea.

They've got Angel station, Archway station, Holloway Road station, Finsbury Park AND Highbury and Islington within 10/20minutes walk

Overground they have Finsbury Park and Highbury and Islington, again 10/20 minutes walk

And just HOW many busses go through Holloway/Islington I ask you?!

There is no reason whatsoever why this game should've been cancelled. But then again, David Dein has the FA in his pocket!

Nem, i assuming that you havent been to our place on matchday. Coming out of the ground is a nightmare, at the top of ST Thomas's road the police have to control the amount of people coming from each direction. Most people leave the area from arsenal tube station can you imagine 60,000 people walking 20 mins to holloway tube/finsbury park etc.

Saying that i dont suppose you could imagine 60,000 supporters at a game  ;whistle;

Dannyboy,

I know plenty of gooners who are unhappy with the transport situation after matches at The Library. I've also been told that they close Gillespie Road and Holloway Road after matches anyway, so...

I dont see that postponing the game is any more benifical to us than playing, anyway the replay now is on that date so it would be moved again anyway

Given that Arsenal had to pay for a lot of the public transport upgrades in the area I think it's only fair enough that they get some consideration in this.

Maybe Arsenal are worried about City doing the double over them this year?
