Title: Why was my thread deleted?
Post by: Piccolo170 on February 24, 2007, 10:24:23 AM
Sorry, but I don't even know where to go to find out why.  Is there a modded message history somewhere?

Hi,

The first post you have ever made on here is a derogatory one concerning a poker site. I have no idea who you are or what axe you have to grind, so I removed your post so that my fellow mod's can take a look and form an opinion.

I removed your reply because basically, it amounts to the same thing.

Why don't you put up a permanent sticky saying that any negative comments about any site that Blonde is associated with will be deleted - that would make things clearer.

I saw the thread on another forum and my opinion would only cause a handbag war, so i will not post my thoughts.

Because that is not the case.

If his post was essentially the same as that from THM, then i don't really get why it was removed.

I disagree with what he was saying, but there's nothing overwhelmingly defamatory there, just a standard upset customer expressing their view.

Apologies though, if his post was different here and he overstepped the mark.

Frankly, I'm surprised and disappointed that a long standing member such as yourself would credit blonde with so little integrity.

The fact is, we spend countless hours trying to be scrupulously fair to everyone.

Perhaps when questioning loyalties, you should first question your own.

His post was removed for the reasons I gave at the start of the thread.

eh?

Have to agree with JC though, if its the same as the THM one then it seems a bit OTT, i guess there must have been more too it.

P.S. It's still all BS, they owe him nothing.

I apologise for the "questioning loyalties" comment, it was out of order.

It just winds me up when people automatically assume the worst.

I don't think so, for one thing people wouldn't know what I was apologising about, and for another Flushie and you both quoted it anyway.

Red-Dog did say "I removed your post so that my fellow mod's can take a look and form an opinion". Shouldn't we wait for this to happen before jumping in?
I also agree that it would be different if a regular Blonde criticises a site, rather than a newbie that we will never hear from again.

Sorry Piccolo, I removed your post once again, and I will continue to do so.

Please wait for a ruling from the modorators

if this is a critisism of an affiliated site, does it affect the advertising revenue? in other words, if any blondes criticise the people who are advertising on here, does it affect the income? if so its something i didnt consider before and will have implications for members here if they do have something valid to say with a negative edge.

only a thought and a difficult call for the mods. almost like a conflict of interests really

Just a thought...

If an established member of the board had made the original post, would it have been allowed to remain?

It IS a tricky call Mad, but not for the reasons you suggest. The fact that a Post or thread may or may not affect our Affiiate Income is not relevant, and as I am sure you know, the shareholders & Mods on here all have great integrity, which, largely, reflects the nature of the Members.

The fact is, we, as Mods, are ALWAYS suspicious of first-time Posters, as to their real motive for joining blonde. To be a part of our Community, or to use us? The Forum is free to view, so we have the right to take a close look at Newbies to make sure they are genuine, are not spammers, & are not simply working across all Poker Fora with an axe to grind. In this case, it appears to be the latter.

If you, or any other established blonde Member had made the Post, we would have looked at it in an entirely different light.

I don't really know Keith, I was not around at the time & I'm on "catch-up", but I'd say it would be MUCH more likely that we'd have allowed it to remain up. For one, we'd be more sure, (or less uncertain?) of the OP's motive, "where he was coming from". We don't know this guy frrom Adam, so to speak, & have no idea what motives he may have, or the validity of his facts.

By the bye, I'm away all weekend, working, "essential blonde duties only", so it'll have to wait until tomorrow, but I will send the Post to Mansion & ask them to comment as they see fit, irrespective of what decision the Mods come to on whether the OP should be put back up. (Which they'll decide today I expect). My vote was "no", but they rarely listen to me these days...............................
