Title: Been a while, pet hate thread
Post by: thetank on February 24, 2007, 06:53:03 PM
It's been a while since we had a good ol' pet hate/Room 101 style thread.

I hate installing programs on my PC, that feel they are important enough to start up automatically every time I re-boot. If I want you, I'll click on you!

When someone laughs politely before you've finished telling a joke. Worse still, when they laugh politely over the punchline.

Shop assistants with attitudes.

Women who are incapable of making desicions. They don't know what they want, but they know what they don't want, and will polite refuse 123 suggestions, before plumping eventually for suggestion number 1.

so you hate 99% of all women.

For me it's people who think they somehow have the authority to get involved in what I consider to be my business and offering the old "I think that's a really bad idea" without having been asked for their opinion.

People that are all over the different lanes on roundabouts
People that chase flushes no matter the odds - they don't seem to do it with straights, just flushes.

I'll think of some more, there's bound to be lots more, as they happen, I'll post them

i also hate people that drive upto roundabouts when the roads are empty and rather than look as they approach, they wait till the last minute, stop then look to the right and see that the road is dead, i cant count the number of times ive nearly gone into the back of somebody on a clear road...

ah..my old manager had this "We have to manage our own destiny, and on Monday I want everyone to come back reinvigorated and ready to manage theirs proactively". (This right after a round of lay-offs)

I have to say whilst on this vein, When I worked for Monster.com we had a great work ethic, a fantastic individual and team motivation and a lot of fun was had at work.

Unsurprisingly we were at our most successful when we had an American team running the European hub of monster.

Once Europe had grown to a substantial size, the Head office in the USA decided it was time to put the Europeans in charge of their own destiny, Unsurprisingly again, within one month of a new European management team taking control, we lost the work ethic, the fun, the individuality and the motivation all because the European team decided to "fix" a working, well oiled machine.

pet hate = trying to fix something that works exceptionally well. Why oh Why do people feel the need to do this?

I put Charles and Phillip in because they are no brainers, then Andrew.. cos he's so damned annoying. I was at the races minding my own business when a copper literally pushed me to the ground... the reason? I had walked about 10 yards in front of your maj. Noone is so important that other people should be pushed out of their path IMHO. And once I had those four in I could hardly leave Eddie and Anne out, could I?

Fergie is so irrelevant, it would be a travesty to include her on any list of anythng. Except perhaps a list of the most irrelevant people on the planet.

Indulge me, elaborate on what pisses you off about the Daewoo Matiz. :)

I just refuse to believe they are real cars! They are so small, my theory is look at the car behind it and i bet you they have a remotre control driving the daewoo in front! And to back this up, look at the driver when you are going buy, always 10 and 2 on the steering wheel and their head never moves-THEY ARE JUST DUMMIES to fool the police!Its scientific fact!

- Pensioners who shop on weekends (they've got all week to do it and hold people up!!!);
- Women who wait until they've reach the ticket barrier before searching their bag for their travelcard, thus blocking everyone's way;
- Any commuter that says "Hi, I'm on the train" on their mobile;
- Offshore call centers;
- Big Brother (in fact any reality TV)

That'll do for now.

I hate getting Nitromors  paint and varnish remover in my eye.  Pain, lots and lots of pain.  I couldn't find any rubber gloves, so I am using two ASDA carrier bags as hand protectors
