Post by: FlyingPig on March 04, 2007, 08:22:06 PM
Anyone else having problems. I got kicked out of pacific, and cannot log into stars.

I have tried different PC's, different ISP's and no luck.

Both helplines are engaged... Grrrr

I've been OK on Stars - but it looks like I'm in a minority.

Wonder what the problem is?

Stars is definitely having problems. I am in but in a minority. Most of the tournament registration tables are incorrect and the central clock seems to have frozen at 1530 hrs. The sit and gos are having problems too.

I got a response off Pacific Poker, apparently it was due to essential maintenance. Yeah right.....

Stars came back on at about the same time as well.... Hmmmm

could be DDOS attacks - If I was a crim then Sunday night would be best time to start the threat as it would do the most damage to their business.

See what happens during the night.

Gl if u are in the Mill.

Would make sense that those of us already logged in were OK and didn't suffer any problems, but they were stopping any new connections being made?

How does a shark get out of the sea?

Title: Re: Pacific Poker and Pokerstars - Problems

that's why it's dreaded I guess, if it does, we're all in deep trouble

yes, but even if it did get out of the sea it could not get anywhere - unless it grew legs. In which case, yes, I could see why it would be dreaded. I would dread it very much indeed.

It's an organised attempt to disrupt internet communication of a business.  It is possible because stupid w**kers the world over don't bother to install a firewall and downlaod dubious software.  At a pre-arranged point in time the software contacts the site flooding it.

Don't think that this is the problem here as the crash was immediate and apart from the time clock being wrong etc. the connection was ok after I got back on.

Well you know that people dump shopping trolleys in the sea, well the shark carries one into the surf then catches the wave onto the beach (obviously does not happen with shingle beaches which is where i holiday-Im not stupid!) and can ride for around 1 mile if he gets enough momentum devouring any holdiayers along the way! The hard bit is finding the sea afterwards!

Here is one below pushing the trolley intot he surf. If you didnt believe me before......

Dreaded Dry Onshore Shark Attack!

Very good ....

Wish I'd gone to bed instead of playing to 3am and bubbling for the FT of a guaranteed seat to the WSOP. Had a 30 minute heads up then crashed ..........................................out

Poker can really smack you in the face sometimes...

oh well - until next Sunday adieu

Interesting though that lots of different rooms were hit at the same time.  I've not seen anything like that before - guess it could be a major backbone issue somewhere - or maybe KP broke the Internet?
