Seriously, I think vegas if your under 21 is a bit of a waste. I went last year when I was 22 and 1 month, got asked for ID about 1/4 of the time while playing poker, and all the time while testing out blackjack. Probably get away with playing the slots OK and the cocktail waitresses might bring you drinks, depends where you are. Aladdin casino was apparently most lax for being under 21, but I think its planet holywood now and don't know if they've tightened up. We just played poker all week and tried out quite a few of the card rooms on the strip. Went downtown one night, watched the Freemont Steet experience and player poker in the Golden Nugget. Went to a shopping mall one day. Ate mostly in the cafe Bellagio and Harley Davidson Cafe. I liked the chinese restaurant (called Noodles) in Bellagio, Char Sui Boi and callamari recommended. Really we just slept, drank and played poker though! If you want to get drunk go down to the Luxor where it's a $50 NL game (where you can buy in another $50 if you want as soon as you lose $1) the play was auful when I was there and even after 3 hours of drinking I could still beat it, as everyone else had the same aim, getting drunk. I think they do 3 blinds, 1,1,2, unusualy but plenty of action, their tournament is really fast, give it a miss! Pick up a copy of card player from any card room when you arrive to see a list of tournaments in the back of it. about.com has some very good information http://govegas.about.com/index.htm?terms=las+vegas Title: Re: Vegas Virgin Post by: Rookie (Rodney) on March 06, 2007, 08:33:19 AM Am only going as i have to only pay for my Flights, so not bad really. Title: Re: Vegas Virgin Post by: AndrewT on March 06, 2007, 10:05:45 AM The Voodoo Lounge at the top of the Rio is worth going to once simply for the view - as it's slightly off strip you get the view perpendicular to the Strip, instead of looking along it like you do from the Stratosphere, which means you can see just about everything. The Steakhouse in the Rio was also fabulous - I didn't need to eat for three days after having dinner in there.
Most of the tournaments in the smaller casinos are not worth bothering about - good ones include Caesar's and The Venetian. If it's important to you, I found that The Venetian had the hottest cocktail waitresses (it was important to me). Title: Re: Vegas Virgin Post by: The_nun on March 06, 2007, 10:08:59 AM I have to agree re: the under 21 comment. Once, my brother inlaw came with us and it was awful, he couldn't even stop at a bandit to watch us. He was 25 looking but only 19 plenty non gambling stuff to do but still too boring for a full week for him personally.
On a must side, Go up the Strat's on the rides ..Brilliant experience.Make sure you go pee first. I like to visit Oakman, a little drive down near Laughlan little old cowboy village. I went when I was 21 and didn't get id'd in any of the cardrooms i went too (binions/golden nugget/plaza/MGM and the bellagio) however when I tried to sit down at 3 card poker at the plaza i was instantly id'd. No harm in trying to sit down at a poker table rooks. Ill be in vegas from 6th-15th april getting my wedding sorted out :) Title: Re: Vegas Virgin Post by: littlemissC on March 06, 2007, 12:14:09 PM my brother is in the air as we speak on his first vegas trip.im so jealous.
