Title: Omaha cash game thoughts
Post by: Tractor on March 07, 2007, 09:14:45 AM
This happened two weeks ago at our local game, i wasnt playing as i was still in the tournament.
Theres a 50/1 plo cash game start 6 players 100 max pull up.
One local (totally mental player) decides hes playing and raising/re-raising blind all the time, every street.
Anyway to cut along story short, he got very lucky and was upto £1400 infront of him..

Heres the question, what hand are you happy to go all the way with? one pair? two pair?

Depends on the board but it would have to be at least top 2 or a straight.

Where is the maniac sitting in relation to you?  If he's on your immediate right, leave the game as you can't win - you are a sitting duck for all the other players, pre-flop and post flop.

If he is on your immediate left, just wait for any good omaha hand and re-raise the maniac and anyone who has called him - hopefully all the money goes in pre with you having an advantage.  Post-flop depends then on a lot of factors, but if heads-up and he bets the flop I would be calling with any part.

What sort of live PLO game gives you a MAX of 100BB, kills the game.

As to what to play, any decent hand. Sometimes that will be as little as 1 pair, sometimes it would be as low as a set, it all depends on the flop texture.

Just  a pub game Flushy, mainly full of holdem fish.
£100 is a fair pull up for a pub game and there was probably £2k on the table.
i wasnt sure wether to abandon the tourny just to get in the cash game at the time.
But i only had another £100 on me, which was basically one pop, so to speak.
if i had a few pull ups, i would have definatly took a seat.
The same chap went blind all-in, in the £10 rebuy this Monday, for the whole rebuy period and then bust on the last hand in rebuy and got up and left...
mental!
