I am reliably informed Gary will be playing on Day 1A (Thursday). Gary plays his poker on the regular cornwallpoker tour superbly run by TDs Colin and Heather. Through out 2006 points were attained from finishing in the top 7 of each tournament, Gary ended the year in 4th place in the league, winning along the way, the inaugural £100 freezeout (the largest tournament held in Cornwall at that time). The top 16 finishers in the league were then invited to play in a "freeroll" for the "Champions League" trophy, kindly donated by Des Wilson (swimming with the devilfish). Prizes for this tournament were donated by local players, poker sites and ultimately the main prize was donated by Ladbrokes, a seat into the weekly LEOTOP final ($900). Gary won the Champions League tournament and was ultimately registered for the following weeks Leotop final, only to find out this was at the time that "Tiscali" were blocking people from poker sites and therefore unable to play!!!!! Ladbrokes kindly entered him the following week which is where he duly won his seat. Gary is a really nice bloke (i have known him now for 20 years or so), plays his poker for fun and is generally regarded as a bit of a "loose cannon" at the table, though he as the ability to adapt when the need arises, i feel that he will not be phased by this event, but will enjoy it immensely for the experience. To my knowledge this will be his 1st tournament OUTSIDE Cornwall. A BIG Thank You has to go to Colin and Heather, as without these 2 special people none of this would ever have happened. They have done SO MUCH for Poker in Cornwall.
